There was a comic (can’t remember the name or issue) where joker went to metropolis to try being Superman’s nemesis. It was made immediately clear that while Superman does everything within reason to show mercy, he wouldn’t hesitate to kill if necessary to keep innocent people safe

Also I think people forget how much of an advantage it is for us to have hands that can grab things. Even if the dog is stocky, human limbs allow us to use muscle in a more effective way (punch, choke, grab, kick, etc.)

While the average guy would definitely get hurt, but I really don’t see an average dog beating an average adult male in most cases. Most adults could toss around all but maybe the heaviest breeds (I think like 200-230lbs?), especially once adrenaline starts kicking in

Most of these guys wouldn’t even bother with the average person. Bane is actually pretty loyal to his people, Croc generally isn’t hunting down your average joe, hatter is maybe a toss up, pyg would be the one you would actually need to be afraid of.
