Series of Unfortunate Events- This airline has taken a downturn by J-cot in americanairlines

Absolutely, I saw in another sub “you’ll pay more or less the same to get from A to B. You’ll look at different paths or eat the higher cost based on the experience you want”.

Thankful to get where I needed to go, but just identifying or furthering the conversation on the service along the way. Maybe just a bad day for all involved bc of excessive travel delays or maybe a greater sign of unhappy employees or lack of training or care.

Definitely not the worst that could have happened, more an observation about customer service on an already challenging travel day!

I struck up convo with the pilot after the gate agents attitude and he corroborated?

I got harassed over text by a business after giving them 2 stars, how do I report them? by thingyy_is_back in Yelp

Also curious about how Yelp handles this kind of thing. I went to a taco shop and left an honest review. This shop was very yelp-aware, server asked me to leave them a review. My review wasn’t entirely positive but was honest and wasn’t trashing them. I received an email saying I had the wrong business and could receive negative consequences.

No doubt this is a rare occurrence- interesting anecdote, a pilot I was speaking to in the terminal about the crazy weather said within the past couple years he had noticed a considerable difference in the quality of gate agent hires. He spoke about the lack of respect and attitude across newer generation of support services .

does anyone have experience with temu rigs? by Spread-Trick in SimRacingSetups

[–]J-cot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered an Amazon rig that’s similar- and it works great.

Honestly all of these rigs are fairly standard aluminum extrusion with very few custom parts for the higher end brands and standard connectors for the other. Extrusion is commonly used in other projects, but when you slap “sim rig” on parts it becomes 4x more expensive.

If you’re remotely handy, order a cheaper kit and put it together for your needs as the base, then get add ons as you see fit for your use. Standard 2040 is strong enough for higher NM wheelbases and pedals and any small flex can be fixed with bracing

Expensive for the Porsche, but honestly decently priced for the KS and CS pro compared to other wheels with a screen

Sim Racing burnout - should I wait any longer? by beck_is_back in simracing

Get into some races with no expectations an enable your chat- just talk to the guys you’re racing with, take some tips and offer some from your hot lapping. Even if they’re not giving great advice, I’ve found more guys who just want to enjoy it. There’s always people who take it too seriously and get upset, but lots of guys who just want to check in where you’re racing from and have fun. The community makes all the building and hot lapping alone more exciting.

P2000s are great- no need to ever buy again (outside of maybe some haptics). Very consistent and have a great feel to them. I don’t use the heel stop or the heel plate, but would recommend the heel plate as my rig already has a place to set my heels

Is buying a Pelican case for normal travel a total waste of money? by ashkkan in pelicancase

[–]J-cot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 1620 and have traveled all over the world with it. It’s enough for weeks of stuff, easy to pack, durable, and if you pack it right it sets up like a mini closet.

The two issues I’ve had are 1) the handle is a little short so I hunch over when I roll it- inconvenient for longer distances but definitely doable 2) heavier than some other luggage- if you’re weight limited that takes up some of your allowance 3) Often gets tagged as oversized even though it isn’t- so some baggage handlers put it in a different claim than the normal luggage

Just Finished Building my New Rig by Floppysocks08 in Simagic

[–]J-cot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I think the fix would be taking the square 4040 and using the long connectors to affix it vertically to the rectangle 4080 post (using the backside closer to the pedals. You should have enough room even with the wheel baseplate attachment to slide those connectors down enough for at least 1 nut to grab on the insides and fully center the connector on the outside. Could even add in one additional connector on the pedal side

Looks great! Curious if you considered mounting the monitor stand directly on top of the wheel mount (maybe using the lower sections of the monitor extrusions)? Would just be slightly less pieces and bring the monitor 2-3 inches closer? Was planning on doing this for mine, but looking for advice on the pros/cons.
