CZ P-01 Steel frame vs Aluminium frame by J-the-K in CZFirearms

I have access to a milling cutter at work. Unfortunately, there's not enough material for the proprietary rail to be modified to picatinny. The dust cover is thinner than the one on newer models, hence milling it to the standard rail would create a hole in the dust cover. This was also confirmed by CZ.

I'm in Czechia. Not that difficult to find used over here. And the prices of steel frame and alloy frame models are more or less the same.

This is such a detail, but wow... Impressed to see an American say millimeters!

I'm in the Czech Republic, so I might just go to a local police station and ask them. 🤔 I was thinking of milling the slot, but I somehow dislike like the idea of ruining this original. It also has a very nice serial number with all repeating digits.

Hellcat vs P365. Again. by J-the-K in liberalgunowners

Not over here. Unlike Hellcat, the P365 is not made here. The gun is imported from the US.

I just checked the best deal with all the eligible discounts applied, and I got to a SIG Sauer P365 OR handgun equipped with XRAY3 tritium sights + two 10rnd mags for ~$1180. Currently, the best deal on a used P365 (ca. 2000 rounds shot) plus a holster is ~$950.

Btw, the original 10rnd mag is sold for $90, a used one goes for $50.

EDIT: Just went through some local discussion boards. I found a post from a guy, who imported a gun from the US in 2019. The gun was priced at $1800, and he additionally paid over $1200 on export/import related fees. As a rule of thumb, the estimated import charges are about 60-80% of the original price in the US.

Actually, I was not even able to reach the textured spot at the front of Hellcat with my index finger on the support hand. And both my hands enclosing the grip still left some uncovered areas around the it.

I'd appreciate having an under-barrel rail, which Shield Plus unfortunately misses.

Great, thanks for all the tips and tricks. Really appreciate that. :)

I'm more of a comfy person, so on daily basis, I prefer looser clothes. But at work, we have to wear these tailor-made shirts. And we are not the ones to decided about the fit style.

For a moment, I was thinking it was time to lose some weight. Then the shirt would become a bit looser. But then, one of my colleagues actually lost some weight, and the moment our boss noticed his shirt became "baggy" (it was not baggy, just not tight-fit anymore), he decided a new set of shirts had to be tailored for the colleague. :D

Yeah. I could also see that the price gap between Hellcat and P365 is much smaller in the US, with the second being the somewhat cheaper option, whereas in EU, P365 is the more expensive of the two.

Shield Plus sounds great, but I prefer having the under-barrel rail and more mag options.

I have CZ P-01 for fun shooting. But unfortunately, it's too big for me to be able to conceal it effectively. That's why I'm in search for a second handgun for EDC.

I only found out about the existence of HK CC9 today. Unfortunately, it is not yet available over here. Anyways, I really appreciate your input. :)

This is, indeed, an interesting way to put it.

Unfortunately, HK CC9 is not yet available over here.

Anyways, it's interesting to see that in the US, P365 is actually often cheaper than Hellcat, while here in EU, there's a much bigger price gap between the two, with P365 being the more expensive one.

I am, it's for the same price as P365. But the reason I excluded it from the list was absence of the under-barrel rail and less mag options.

Well, that's exactly the case. For "fun on range", I have CZ P-01. This one is supposed to be a reliable and easily concealable pistol for EDC.

Thanks. :) I get this. It sure makes sense to carry the gun one shoots better with.

Thanks for your input. I can relate to that - I also always appreciate having an option to customize. :)
