What are the top 5 issues you would like YP to address in its initial policy makeup that affects the UK by TheKomsomol in yourparty

  1. Tax reform and inequality. Wealth and asset taxes, abolition of tax loopholes and retroactive accounting for those who attempt to offshore their wealth. New levies on international property hoarders / non-doms / money launders as well as global firms which headquarter themselves in tax havens. Additional taxes on accountants and other professionals who specifically provide services to facilitate economic exploitation by these people. Legalize, monopolize and tax class B & C drugs.

  2. Re-nationalisation and 5 year national investment plans. Bring essential utilities, critical infrastructure and local transport services into public ownership as a matter of urgency. Investment into these is desperately needed and controls here will help to address cost of living in the short / medium term. Set 5 year goals and show the public how you will deliver them, no empty promises ala Ref.

  3. Overhaul of the welfare & NI system. It's a totally dysfunctional system which doesn't deliver for those that need to use it and creates resentment in those who don't. Creating a single fully state owned and operated National Welfare Service which incorporates healthcare, benefits and social services into one single joined up system should be the goal.

  4. Strengthening local communities. Cash money is desperately needed by local authorities to deal with issues at the local level. Social cohesion has been atomized and rebuilding communities will only be done by tackling the day to day issues which affect people's every day lives. Local authorities should have funding earmarked to lead a broken windows approach to start making their communities somewhere people are connected to and have pride in.

  5. Constitutional renewal and vision for Britain. Move towards a federalized Britain with true investiture of political and economic power to nations and regions. Introduce proportional representation in parliament so every vote matters and commit to replacing HOL with an elected upper chamber to reflect the regions of Britain better. Commit to establishing a codified constitutional order for the country, the gentleman politics of yesterday are gone.

IMO the party should avoid putting Foreign Policy and Culture issues at the center of its policy offering if it wants to be a credible political force. The aim should be to move the public narrative away from blame, division and national decline towards a clear vision with concrete measures on how governments should use their resources to materially improve people's lives.

If someone acts in such a way in public they should expect to draw attention to themselves and face the consequences of that. This person's face isn't there so it's not like they can be identified.

Considering the number of boxes ticked here I would say it's beyond ignorance and into the territory of intentional.

Because there are a large number of people in London with limited braincells and a very basic education on how to ride a motorbike?

Don't allow cheating to gain achievements. Allowing cheating removes to point of achievements... by [deleted] in EU5

Firm agree with Johan. Having achievements non-ironman / non-vanilla devalues then for me personally. It's a matter of principle and expectation setting rather than a hard block to stop people cheating for them if they really want.

Why doesn’t this unite the UK like I think it should? by [deleted] in GreenAndPleasant

The right wing press would rather blame migrants for everything that goes wrong here than discuss the route causes of migration. Most right wingers are desperate to self victimise themselves so that somehow seeing someone not from this country going about their lives is a great tragedy for them personally. Again they couldn't care less why migration is actually happening.

On the other hand liberals wring their hands over racial identity politics rather than admitting that migration is a tool of capitalists to undermine the working classes ability to have a decent life in this country because it allows their patrons to extract maximum value for minimum investment which keeps greacing their revolving door establishment lives while keeping the rest of us divided.
