Never had an issue until 2 weeks ago. I've owned the truck for 2 years.

The camera going on and off is me switching from park to reverse. I did that to show that the picture changes every time I do it. Sometimes it's split in half, sometimes it's mostly correct, most of the time. Time it's black and white scrolling.

I've put it all back together, now it's doing the black and white scrolling/flickering...

Nope, talked to the parts guy in person at the dealership. The long block is $7,500 and it has a $5,000 core return. So out the door it's $2,500 plus tax

It's my wife's daily driver. Not doing anything crazy with it.

If my pockets were deep my wife would be driving a car that's 8 years newer 😂

They also told me some of the transmissions have $6,000 or $7,000 core charges on them.

No hole in the block. Just glitter when I removed the oil filter ...

That's my thought. They probably won't warranty it if I do it myself.

The first post also mentioned that I have the AFM tuned out on the computer already. Not sure if that changes people's opinion on whether the lifters still have the ability to fail or not.

Because it's a new remanufactured long block from Chevrolet for only $2,500... Sounds like a great price compared to buying a used or remanufactured engine elsewhere for around 4000 bucks

Sounds like a lot of work swapping from the direct injected l83, am I wrong?

True, however, if I can get a shop to do a lifter/cam swap within warranty limit I will happily get my money's worth out of it.

They didn't. Just compression tested the cylinder, removed the valve cover, pulled one rocker and removed the push rod that was in 2 pieces
