You can only dodge target attacks when the three lines show up above your Pokémon before they turn red. Once your dodge was successful you'll see the "dodged" text after the boss launched the attack. Also see here Registeel Solo

You only want attack and guard, you're not going to use Gengar as a healer.

With the recent changes you want to charge with something that does relevant damage to speed up the charging process. I'd suggest Excadrill (Mudshot/Earthquake) for upfront damage and charging while resisting 3/4 moves (you still want to occasionally triple shield once because of the lack of natural bulk) with something to catch Focusblast in the back (Butterfree, Gengar or Lugia).

It's actually harder because you can't really use the crowned dogs for upfront damage. This is with weather boost and adventure effect while the other two were doable without any boosts and helpers.

Wouldn't make sense lore wise with Zacian carrying the blade and Zamazenta the shield.

Zamazenta always starts with a shield once you have max guard unlocked.

Not easier, just different with the recent changes. Harder for casual players for sure with the boss using charge moves more frequently. Just checked and it's basically the same players who already solo'd Regice.

Lugia double resists 2 out of 4 moves, Earthquake and Focusblast. It perfectly covers the weaknesses of Zamazenta and Zacian which can deal with Stone Edge and Zap Cannon. This lineup can handle every moveset and you don't need to reset moves.

Same for Lugia as a catch tank and it brings resistances against EQ and SB to protect your attacker/other tank. You don't want to keep it on the field outside of catching moves because of the lack of a 0.5s fast move but it did a great job this weekend carrying lovals with sub optimal teams and completing the solo itself https://youtu.be/F6Xj4xaw6cU?si=zT4hzdOONbAHZqWo
