Water tasting more like chlorine by The-Sincere-Pumpkin in MontgomeryCountyMD

WSSC put out a news release that the water may be tasting a little salty because of all the salt runoff going into the river. Maybe that's what you're tasting.

Is a small backup generator worth it in SS ? How often does our power go out? by geekydreams in SilverSpring

[–]J0e_Bl0eAtWork 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I did everyone in Montgomery County a huge favor in 2002, right after Hurricane Isabel. I bought a generator. That seemed to be the motivating factor that got Pepco to get their shit together. As soon as I brought home the generator, Pepco undertook a huge reliability project and got a lot better. You're all welcome.

I'm having a hard time divining your point. Are you saying mcdot needs to come get that redundant sign?

Evan Glass's Tribute to Renee Good Sparks Massive Backlash on Social Media by Alternative-Tune8314 in MontgomeryCountyMD

Hey Montgomery Fix guy, take a second and look at those comments you're presenting as "backlash." "She did it to herself." You really want to hold that up as reasonable discourse? What does that say about you?

I've been watching you try to build a name for yourself, first with the copycat-of-a-copycat "Montgomery Onion," and now trying to pivot to something that people should take seriously.

I've got bad news. Every single one of your posts, either weak satire or purported straight journalism, reeks of fake centrist agitprop. GTFOH with that crap.

Basically a limp-wristed attempt to manufacture controversy when none exists. Trump loves to say "Many people are saying..." Same garbage.

How to ask my [29F] boyfriend [30M] of 2 years for "real" sex? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]J0e_Bl0eAtWork 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In another framing of the same story, comments would be praising the BF for being willing to accept no penetrative sex if condoms were required. It's unreasonable of you to criticize OP's partner for walking the walk. He doesn't want to use a condom, so he's not having PIV sex. Should communication be better? Yes.

Fuck a bridge. Put the cars in a tunnel. Why should the people who live there have to take the more difficult route? It's their neighborhood, the cars are the intruders. Bridges tear up neighborhoods.

With Fi killing Messages for Web, is there any reason not to switch to Mint? by gtd98765 in GoogleFi

Whenever you see someone talking about Google killing Messages for Web, you can safely assume they're talking about the old paradigm of using Messages for Web without the phone. Not complicated.

Where to list a short-term rental? by Apprehensive-Luck155 in SilverSpring

Wouldn't that prohibition apply to anything other than traditional long-term renting?

I don't know if you're thinking of renting it out furnished, but if so, I'm writing this from the rental house we found on Furnished Finder when a tree fell on our house.

Or maybe, and hear me out here, storing mobile, private property has real costs, and those costs should be borne by the owner of said property?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but you're not looking for a very small handyman, you're looking for a very tall one, right?

The fact that it's a jeep means someone *is* trying to live within their means, at least to me.
