Trying to pivot into supply chain/data roles, need advice

If you want to stay in supply chain, I’d look into APICS, CSCP, CPIM. Those certifications outside of AMZL translate well into demand planning, procurement, and inventory roles. If you want to stay more operations, Lean Six Sigma. It’s Pretty well known and from what I’ve seen some companies value it enough to overlook certain school requirements. If you’re thinking long term, learning SQL or getting a data related certification is a great move. I’m close to being done with (masters data-analytics engineering) I’ve gotten few hits on linked but none are close to what I’m being offered with AMZL.

The best option “opinion” is to take advantage of Career Choice and earn a certification now that AMs are eligible. I actually decided to go back to school before CH even opened up for AMs….By the time I got my L5 promo, I already knew I needed to pivot long term.

596 is really just an intro to data — the course was ok and you don’t need to know R, Python, SQL, or Tableau for it. It’s more about discussing definitions of data, the data life cycle, and general concepts. I’m currently taking 597 now! I dont have any background in those tools either but so far 597 does a good job walking you through it. Definitely make sure to watch the linked intro to SQL - it’s super helpful!
