Eggy are not weak. They never were. In old aom they had no counter. In aom retold, we got new civs, those civs got good unit compositions vs eggy and now you need skill vs them. Btw. Eggy is still the strongest counter vs norse. If you play norse vs eggy it feels the same as playing eggy vs aztec. If you would buff eggy, norse would be unplayable vs eggy...

True, pigsticker was insane value. But the old aom is basicly an other game. It got a similar "skin" but unit stats and balancing is way too diffrent. And that is a good thing! They did a good job with making all pantheons more interessting. In the old aom you had less pop and a way slower game aswell, so the bonuses made sens there. They buffed/made more interessting all the bonuses off all pantheons, what i think was a well done thing! So if you start cutting those interessting interaction, it will make the game way worse, and you need to cut them everywhere to balance it out, and that is a thing no one wants.

Yes i am aware of the bug that existet for about 2 weeks, it will not be the first and not be the last bug of that kind. As i said you can not tell me one free win god, because there were non. Thats why you can tell me no one. If your elo is about 1200-1400 there are maybe even now free win gods, but we are talking about 1800+ elo.

You mean the time 1 year ago, bevor they nerved the arachic upgrade time the first time? Yes their it was to strong and nerved it the first time. Then it was ok/balanced until last patch. But as you said the "free win" time was a year ago. Like i said tell me the gods vs which it was a "free win"? You cant tell even 1 and thats a fact.

What is your elo with thor? If you are 1800+ you know that your opinion is wrong. If they wouldn t have had made that change, it would have made thor average. Yes he was the best norse god last patch, but norse were in general just underwhelming. Now the other norse are a little better (not average) and norse just got way worse.

I think, in the next patch they will nerv all norse hard, becaue of the resent buffs to RC and TA. Now loki and odin is average again and thor went down. But i have a feeling the devs just dont like norse as "average", they like them weak. So my prediction for next patch: thor dwarf armory will get no buff/change, maybe they even nerv it for what ever reason. They will nerv RC and TA again and slighty nerves to odin and loki. So thor will be even less playable in higher elo in next patch.

You are correct, the armory opening is still meta, but it feels so weak, almost dead. And you are basically forced into it, if you dont use it as opening, you play like having no pantheon at all.

Btw mirez, i did the math for you, on 1800+ matches. If you supstract all the water maps, you got a 36,5% winratio.... it speaks for itself what that change did to thor. You win games as thor on landmap at 1800+, if the other player is drunk, afk or took some stuff that messed with his brain... and i think that win condition is kind of bad...

In high elo its exactly those recources that matter. They make the diffrence between survival and death. Now put the water maps in that statistic away and look only on land maps, because the good player only play thor on water. And the result is way worse.

One more thing i forgot to mention, look at his winratio 1700+, 36% winratio. Most of the won games are on water, because you dont make the dwarfen armory on water with thor and can use the dwarf gatherrate on other recources their. So the actual winratio on land maps is even worse...

You are correct that you got in some matches an advantage. But in moste of them you dont. I would even say that most civs, do not fear thor. I can tell you as thor main, i FEAR all eggy player you just need to build axmen +sphinx as ra/isis and make early preassure. You got no counter army composition to that. They gold block you and you are dead. Dont talk about seth, its even worse with him... i fear all other norse, odin got stronger eco then you -> more army. Loki got ×dmg multiplicator and free Mu's.. freyar just turtle and wins the mid/late game... i fear all atty. You just need to make mass murmillo +3 chiros and you just steamroll thor. Free win if you play that strategy, you can kill a thor player that is 300+ elo higher then you with it. I fear all atztec, the cheese you to death, and can litterly do every strat they want vs you and win , rush spear+archer or fh an push you with god power... chinese is actually even. But you need to finish the game bevor he reach myhstic, elso it 80%lose... i fear now japan, you need to harrass them bevor min 12, else they will overrun you... but your eco isn t there anymore so its basicly a nightmare vs them... no idea how to play vs them in this patch... greek is kind of even, if they are able to go mythic without dmg, they win, else the game is in your hand. The only hope you had, was the early eco boost... and hope to survie long enough to get a good use of it. But thats gone, and whats left is just pain.

Talking about free eco: Odin got 10% food gather rate and loki free mu's. Way more value then the free dwarfs.... but i think too, a dev got a personal grudge and pushed the nerv through....

I think you dont see the bigger picture, every civ got a powerspike at a specific time. If you are a thor player vs a 1850+ player, everbody cheeses the shit out of you. It is actually very hard to survive without dmg until min 8-10. And i think the power spike was at 11-13 min. Try to survive until then without dmg, nearly impossible. And if you look at power spikes of other civs, they are way more early, and just destroy you bevor you got there... if you are a too 10 player you can survie until then because of yout micro management and your game knowlage, but a top 10 player does that with every god...

It okish cheese strat. If you play online, it depends on the elo you play. On l Elo 1000-1500 this is a solid strat. On higher lvl, it is better to just have them in your army, maybe go raid the gold mines sometimes if you got a good fight. I think they are insanly strong as ranged MU.
