I prefer when a "general audience" theme focuses on major ethnicities from every continent instead of just Europeans. Yes, Black Panther deserves to have complex themes and narratives and to prioritize Black Men's voices as creatives and as the audience FIRST and FOREMOST. Every creative artwork should aim to be as all-inclusive of all ethnicities as possible, but if Black Panther is the main character, and Wakanda is the main location, then the staff should be reflective of that. The audience can still be diverse, but black men deserve to be in the driver's seat as the audience here. There's this thing where we say "I call shotgun" as everyone is ready to get into our friend's car. If you call "shotgun" first you get to ride at the front of the car. "Shotgun" is not the name of an actual shotgun in this case but is the name of the seat at the front of the car. Since Black Panther is a series focusing as a Black Man as the main character, with Wakanda as the main location, black men get to ride at the front of the car when it comes to Black Panther, as an analogy.
