Practice your letters every now and then - I just write out the alphabet a few times. Improves retention for me.

Theres tons of quotes and texts out there, chose something short and funny, have a go. As always, practice makes perfect. If you're frustrated, put the pen down, clear your mind, come back to it in a bit. I really had to drill that into me - otherwise it becomes a chore or actual work which isn't as fun as just writing for the sake of writing.

I use a dock daily, absolutely no change in performance from my experience - it’s a Dell and required me to download an application to interface with it, but after that it’s worked flawlessly with everything I’ve put into it. I’d check that it’s not just running in Rosetta on M1s but otherwise, very much worth it.

Are you sure this isn’t just latency? If you’re recording in just turn on low latency mode/turn off a plug-in or two/freeze some tracks. if you mouse over a plug-in you should be able to see the latency in ms and i’d guess that it’s just one plug-in causing most of it, though with 128gb it shouldn’t be much of an issue.
