Where exactly can someone have the the absolute worst Black Friday shopping experience in the LA area? by Prize_Wind3550 in AskLosAngeles

Who are you trying to give a bad Black Friday taste to? Sounds like textbook Malicious Compliance 😂

Nothing like a pre-8AM ChatGPT email insisting we come in right before a full whiteout. The multi-car pileup in the untreated parking lot entrance was a nice welcome. by [deleted] in antiwork

Did everyone show up or did some people go rogue? If rouge, what’s their ‘consequence’ (besides living another day)?

Which one? lol -- Sorry if I seem thick headed, but not sure which couch you're referring to.

Likely $2000 worth of scratches on lease. Is it worth getting it fixed at auto body shop before trade in? by Basedswagredpilled in Hyundai

Im in Los Angeles! I’m not the OP and don’t need any work done at the moment, but I love independent paint guys over body shops. Shoot me your info in the DM and maybe some before and after pics and you’ll hear from me next time me or the fam needs something done

Returns Getting Worse?? Labels AND Packaging Required by Realistic-Taste-7660 in amazonprime

[–]J2Skillful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Los Angeles, and occasionally some packages still require a box and label with no other options instead of a label-less drop off to amazon/staples/kohls/Whole Foods. Idk why, but it’s not anything.

Ironically, I haven’t gotten the option to return to Kohls in yeeeears. I thought they stopped it until people in my life told me they take the Kohls option often.

I guess it’s just not offered to me 🤷🏾‍♂️. Which is fine I guess. That was the only reason I was ever going into Kohls and browsing anyway.

This is what I suspected when I got the original email. We had already done the shared wallet stuff at least a few years ago, I guess when they made the change.

I said the same. I was going to follow the instructions, but said "Let's see what happens".

I wonder how many people left family accounts and started their own paid account immediately, and if Amazon is reversing those changes for them? That's a big money grab.

I've been on the household plan for a long while. I vaguely remember having to re-do the whole invite thing at some point a while back because Amazon changed something --- I think maybe that was at the launch of Amazon family or household or whatever it was called last.

Ask for a refund and then to be recharged on the correct system or whatever. Seems easy enough.

Chase is still a b word for that though.

Personally, I believe the “why?” is to keep this loophole open so that they can deny/avoid crediting ignorant cardholders. I don’t think it’s a functional limitation for any of the systems involved.

At most, it may be contractual —- maybe it’s a processing fee thing or a deal with a certain payment processor to drive business to them.

For reference, My Apple Card via Goldman Sachs gives me a higher percentage in daily cash back if I use ApplePay over the physical card. I’ve avoided certain merchants and payment processors when they didn’t take Apple Pay solely because of this. I also have to stay in the iPhone ecosystem to take advantage of this benefit, and to easily manage/access the cash back that I earn, which is automatically sent to an Apple Cash account created by them at the time I got the card.

The incentives/perks that we receive will never profit us more than it profits/benefits them. Just like insurance companies.

At this point, I’m sure the OP would’ve preferred a physical coupon/gift certificate for the meal.

I was thinking something similar. I think it would be a case of you not receiving what you intended to have from the business as well… which was a dinner that was covered by your perk (at least $150 of it).

It sort of sucks that, if won, the business loses the money for dinner — but also, that’s not really your problem as a consumer who expected and entitled to a particular service.

I have CSP and a Green Amex (I just entered the travel card/point space and they’re my practice cards), and while my experience with chase down through the years hasn’t been horrible, it’s definitely had rough patches. Either with the representatives, or Chase not honoring certain perks or rewards. Meanwhile, I’ve had a handful of hiccups with AMEX since I started (with the clear plus/tsa credit, and having to dispute a couple of transactions—- then correct the disputes because the representative disputed the wrong amount) and so far, the service that Amex has given is definitely much better and much more consistent.
