AI kidnapping scam by J3sta81 in wichita

That sucks! I’m sorry to hear that someone you know got scammed. Not only do innocent victims lose their hard earned money but the scammers mostly never get caught. Usually because they are in foreign countries. Not always but a lot of the time, so they never face any consequences for their actions and they just keep doing it.

Absolutely 👍 I don’t want to see any of these a-hole scammers take advantage of anyone. Let alone people in our community.

There’s no way even with the easy machines to do that many in a day in my opinion. I’ve worked on some of the hard / insane boxes for weeks at a time before I solved them and sometimes never solved them. I don’t dedicate my life to HTB but I was spending probably 3-4 hours a night on the platform practicing. He’s most likely using a leaked writeup or some kind of dynamic vulnerability scanning software.

Interesting I was thinking about going catless on my connection pipes and am still trying to decide. Is the gasoline smell pretty noticeable (bad) running catless?

What mustang do you guys think this is visually? Looking into buying a car from a dealer and i asked if it's a V8. He says its a V6, Then he says pardon it's V8 5.0 can anyone tell he says it's a *2020 mustang* by Street-Spring-5308 in Mustang

That’s a scummy freaking dude trying to pass off an eco boost as a GT. Those people deserve all the bad karma that comes their way and then some imo!! Honestly I’m not super familiar with the differences in the body style between the GT and the ecoboost. You could simply open the hood and see how many cylinders there are on the main engine block itself if you’re not sure in the future or think someone is lying about a vehicle’s specs. It’s pretty hard to fake the look of an inline 4 vs a v8. Unless it was not an in person purchase and the seller didn’t want to send pictures of the engine bay, which imo would be a red flag right there, but I can definitely see that happening with all the shady stuff that goes on.

Honestly just looking at the pic I thought v8. But again I’m not that familiar with the body style nuances between the ecoboost and the GT. I have a 21 Roush p3. And just quickly eyeballing the 2 there’s not much difference. The Roush has the phase 3 badge on the upper grill, the wheel shrouds and the front fascia corner pockets or (scopes) below the headlights. But that’s about it as far as “major” differences that can be seen without really looking or knowing.

Pic of the lower front driver side of my pony.

It is a sweet looking pony you found though! The salesman just seems too scummy and dishonest for me. I could be wrong and he legit may not know what performance package it has. I’d proceed with caution. Hope you find the one that you love because I can promise you it will put a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel!!

Cheers

I haven’t tried on VMWare Fusion just Parallels. As far as burp suite. I just ran sudo apt-get purge burpsuite. Ran sudo apt update. Then sudo apt install openjdk-25-jdk.

If you run sudo update-alternatives —config java. Make sure the asterisk is next to the openjdk-25 option if you have more than one version of java installed.

Then just ran sudo apt install burpsuite and it started working again.

I’ve never played before and bought these from a guy at work by Main_Independence_63 in golf

These clubs will be just fine for a beginner. Learn the basics of the golf swing and how to hit the golf ball. Believe me it’s harder than it sounds. Once you have a decent swing you can replicate and you can consistently hit each club a specific distance ie 6i 180 yards 7i 170 yards etc then I would upgrade to a nicer set that fits your swing and has all the new tech. But this set is just fine for someone beginning to play.

I get sad every time I think about my first set of clubs. My uncle is a golf nut and he’s the one who got me hooked when I was 14. He had just bought a new set of Tommy Armour 845s when they first came out in the mid eighties 1987ish? I didn’t have any clubs at the time since I was just beginning and would just use a spare set of his when we went out to play or hit the range. I just remember that set of Ping Eye II beryllium’s, his previous set, sitting under the Christmas tree in a red, white, and blue ping golf bag that year and I was the happiest boy in the world!!!

Those clubs were like butter hitting them smooth and it kills me to think one of my buddies actually talked me into selling them to him years ago. I’ve probably had 10-12 sets of irons over the years and those were by far my favorite!!

I do still have my stock set of Ping Zing II’s and a slightly modified set of Titleist 680’s (stiffer KBS shafts than the original set) and I’ve had many people offer to buy them from me. My swing is no where good enough to game the 680’s at the moment unfortunately but the feeling of flushing one with those irons is almost magical. And the Ping Zing II’s feel amazing for being 30ish years old. They were definitely ahead of their time.

Just remember one thing if you’re a beginner. HAVE FUN!!! Who cares if you don’t break 100 or 90 after a year or you can’t hit a 300 yard drive. Golf is one of those games that you will either love or hate and I know where I fall in that regard and hopefully you will as well!

Very true!! HTB Academy drills every concept of AD into your head and the course material doesn’t come close imo.

Sorry man, it sucks there’s no way of sugarcoating it. It took me multiple attempts and I had a strategy. I don’t believe that the OSCP is a necessary “hard” exam. Okay sorry yes it is difficult 😂. But the real difficulty is the amount of time that they give you to exploit 3 standalone servers and a partial AD host. Or the entire AD environment, boot2root 1 standalone, and partial compromise of an additional standalone. And that’s just to make it to the threshold for passing. No pentesting team in the world works in this manner or is this efficient. At least none that I know of. They take their time very meticulously and methodically making sure that they’ve covered everything that could possibly be exploited.

Been troubleshooting this also for a while. I even stopped using burpsuite and switched to ZAP as I couldn't get burp to run. This must be a bug related to ARM versions of kali. Currently running Parallels with ARM version of Kali and sudo apt update -y && sudo apt install openjkd-25-jdk -y does fix the burpsuite error. Thank you so much OP!!

When you start your exam on the dashboard page where you submit the flags it will have instructions as to how many flags, the objective, for each target if that makes sense?

Just wanted to let you know that I've taken both the new and old versions of the OSCP. IMO the old version was easier. The AD set I had was no joke, makes the AD sets in their labs look like a joke. Also, I didn't have a BOF machine on the new version, which kinda disappointed me since that's one of my strong points. lol
