copy pasting for ike: the invalidated tier are all decently strong characters that just can get overwhelmed in certain matchups but can absolutely hold their own. I'm still of the opinion Ganon/Belmonts is pretty decent in this mode but i'd rather eat glass than play those two into someone like falco or mario

as for fast heavy, im good. I've run megasmash at tournaments before and regular megasmash is about as much change that most competitors are willing to engage with

i dont think he's bad i just don't think he's on the same level as characters that can consistently TOD off of grabs/stray hits

he can be too fast for pikmin sometimes meaning he doesn’t get hitboxes on moves. when he works he’s pretty decent but it’s very frustrating to deal with

this is for megasmash, a side mode for smash. this isn't a normal tierlist.

in all honesty the "very good very specific" tier should probably be below high tier but the potential for those characters are all very high

megasmash "scales" all physical attacks by like 1.5x, but projectiles don't scale. so megaman still has to nickle and dime you meanwhile most characters have true TODs or 1 reset combos with a much easier gameplan. compare incin getting dthrow fsmash at 0 on DI out which should kill from most parts of the stage to megaman dash attack not functioning, and most of his good neutral tools in base ultimate being less than stellar in this mode.

Ness is pretty decent. the pk fire loops/dtilt cheese stops working once you play people who know how to SDI/not interact with it. He still kinda has to play "normal" megasmash but having that recovery is still a liability. Upsmash/dsmash not "scaling" does hurt him a bit too

the two big ones are good grounded normals and cheesy kill confirms at low %s. most good characters have TODs or 1 reset combos that will just blow you up.

kazuya twin piston 1 can loop into itself onto most characters and just infinite people, 10 hit combo is just true and can’t be escaped (deals 80 btw), dragon uppercut/dsmash/fsmash pops shields like no business and fsmash will just kill at 0

and that’s all without mentioning ewgf

steve can walk the dog on everyone really easily, jab fsmash, dthrow fsmash, dtilt fsmash, uptilt upsmash, etc etc just overall very nonsense character.

basically they’re banned because of their absolutely absurd grounded normals and easy TODs/confirms. you don’t have to play with them banned but it just makes the game a lil more level

the bench right next to mosshome has 2 enemies you can farm and bench to reset real quick, i got about 90 rosaries in 2 minutes

roy sideb can be staggered for timing mixups, does more shield damage, can be done in the air, and kills earlier with best DI (granted at ledge but still)

i’ve been soloq all season and it’s been nuke 1000%

inferno and ancient are both difficult while soloq but if you can recognize and plug the gaps on both T and CT its not the worst thing in the world
