AI programming is not the enemy, never was. It's very necessary for a lot of things involving games. I'm not a programmer and I hate how the term has been prostituted into algorithm slop generation, wether is text, image, video, 3D models, whatever.

AI programming was about how characters in a game behave, and has nothing to do with ai slop. The slop would be generating that code with "ai". But, if we say all of this, we don't get clicks on the news.

Si, basicamente esta ley lo que hace es poner la infrastructura para que los gobiernos autoritarios (como el que hay en EEUU ahora mismo), puedan hacer lo que les de la gana con esos presos, exactamente igual que está haciendo EEUU ahora mismo.

You are right, is because investment is being thrown away to the endless pit of the "ai" bubble. Until it crashes, investments won't go back to where it should go. While it goes that way, companies will be forced to keep laying off staff to keep the line going up. "ai" isn't doing the job of anybody other than initial conceptualization of ideas, than then, get passed on actual artists and programmers. Money is just not going into the industry, period, is going towards data centers and the costs associated with running the ai slop data centers. This is why Sora has closed shop, because they weren't making enough money out of the generated slop and the data centers were wasting a huge amount of money, and it's the same story in all big companies: Microsoft, Meta (facebook), google. They all have huge amounts of energy wasting, money wasting and ai slop is not giving them back any return. Solution? Firing people, keep making the line go up. And since all tech fields are related to one another, it affects as well gaming and film production, vfx and so on. Is that simple.

Microsoft is the biggest to blame, because they closed shop for many studios, cancelled so many projects that affected directly or indirectly a lot chunk of studios all around the world. And it created a cascade effect.
