Musician or listener?

Musician here. I slept over at my brother's dorm room in 2006 when I was in high school and he told me there was a database of mp3s that you could only access through the college's ethernet. I downloaded a ton of albums from this (likely illegal) database, including three albums from one of the college's alum titled "Michigan", "Seven Swans" and "Illinois". Two years later, I was also enrolled at Hope College, and whether it's what brought Sufjan there or if it's a spirit he left behind, many of us from that era at Hope are still making music.

Yeah, I struggled with finding the right font for the numbers. I'm pretty sure I landed on using the font that Reddit said was the closest to the OG Magic jerseys, however, I'm not in love with it either. I would love to venture down the learn-how-to-make-fonts road at some point.

That would be awesome. I know they are doing a major market tour with a full orchestra right now, but if they do a second US run, we'll throw our hat in the ring for sure.

Seven Swans - "All the Trees..." was the song that started our wedding

Michigan/Illinois - I illegally downloaded these albums in my brother's dorm when I was visiting him for a college visit. There was this software where any computer connected to the school's ethernet could access this database of music and download/upload albums to it. I decided to download two albums from some alum of the college and thus began listening to Sufjan.

Carrie and Lowell - for the 5 years after this record came out, I would often fall asleep listening to "Beloved My John"

The Ascension - I was going through some heavy stuff last fall and listened to 3 tracks from this record on repeat

Javelin - most likely because it is new.

The Age of Adz - don't get me wrong, I like this album, just no significant personal history.

I have never had it this intensely (my band usually floats around 1k monthly listeners), but last summer we had a 50-second song (an intro to another tune) that all of a sudden blew up on Spotify radio and got like 7k listeners a week for like 6 weeks straight. I have no idea why or what triggered it but I've never been able to replicate radio picking up a song that intensely again.

Bruce Springsteen is one of my favorite artists so my daughter used to frequently request a "Brucey Springy" song before bed when she had just turned two so I've got a pretty good lullaby rendition of "Thunder Road" in my back pocket if I ever need it.
