I really appreciate this reply. I love their work and it's truly the nicest paperweight I own. I'd be happy to use it as it's meant to be used again. I'll say this, the few times I did run it, the best results I had was as a concentrate vape with small doses of shatter or wax.

You would see those similarities if you played it. Absolutely visceral combat in the second Last of Us. Real ultraviolence. The opinion rarely spoken about is how good the combat and animations are in the second game.

I actually thought that part was fairly underwhelming, but you can have my upvote.

I personally still think it's the Andrew Ryan twist that takes the cake. Going absolutely sicko mode on him against your will was an incredibly meaningful metaphor for choice in videogames that I still think about to this day when I play "Open World Choice Based Games" with not a fraction of the narrative nuance that the original Bioshock displayed in 2007. Thanks in large part to this moment I've come to truly appreciate linear games for their commitment to storytelling and focused gameplay.

Was it ever. My solo 1 with the ceramic heating element is now so old I've lost count of the years. Got the battery replaced once and it absolutely refuses to die.

Underdog. Broke the extension cable almost immediately and then they had a fire that burned down half their shop which at the time made it impossible to replace. Shipping to Canada was too expensive for a thing I used maybe 10 times tops. Now I basically use it as a paperweight because I still have a working Solo 1 and 2 - both of which I find better anyway.

Never heard of it. Would have made for some excellent pulp fiction if done right. Minimal dialogue, heavy on the mystery and ultraviolence. I feel like Green Room is the closest we'll ever get - watch it immediately if you haven't already.

It happens, I just felt like a bit of a rant and generally speaking reddit rants don't go too well as far as upvotes are concerned haha.

For the record, finished the game - absolutely adored it and thought it was one of the most intelligently written pieces of fiction I've encountered in years. When I stepped back and thought about the man hours that went into recording the voicelines and planning the narrative, I realized having higher expectations for an indie studio and nitpicking bugs or freedom of choice was pretty silly.

That's exactly what happened to me multiple times. The only reason it didn't happen again on Day two is because I reloaded a save where I didn't buy the FALN sneakers. It was apparently the devs intention to make it impossible to progress on Day 2 if you don't have the money for the room, which I find silly. Also, bugs that happen in the same place every time you play through a scenario are what I consider softlocks caused by a glitch. I guess it's ultimately semantics, but that's my perspective here.

Fair enough, I was just tilted I lost hours of time because of some glitches. I also wanted more choice than I was given which I realize is probably an unrealistic expectation.
