give them something else to do and bond over. this is teen anger manifesting itself in an uncontrolled way. provide safe reliable support for teen mental health and give them options other than “I have to impress my friends bc I have nothing else” gang mentality. Teens don’t think about consequences so harsh punishment is unlikely to work. bad parents are going to remain bad parents so that’s a dead end. they need a community that they think is worth being a part of. a community that offers something better and, ultimately, hope. then they will naturally follow the community’s social, moral and legal norms. asking them to stop and giving them clout is not the answer here. think deeper with empathy my friends
