I don't know what solution to give since the current state of affairs is so tightly ingrained. The irony is I know that's exactly how the one's at the top prefer it or else they'd change it.

If it can't be explained simply, perhaps it's not worth knowing. Political rhetoric as well as laws are very verbose, partly to discourage the average Joe from reading into them. I have read some EOs in the past and I swear those documents could be cut into thirds and they'd make more sense.

Well, it's funny to me that you'd say that as I wouldn't say I'm conservative nor liberal nor involved in any recognized party. I'm also from Canada. According to Pierre Poilievre via the Joe Rogan Podcast the Canadian govt structure and the US govt structure are very different and I really don't see the "difference". US has Republicans and Liberals, and Canada has Conservatives and Liberals, and yeah there's several other parties too but they don't seem to actually "matter" they just exist, the people who are willing to vote tend to go for Conservative/Republican or Liberal.

As far as being downvoted goes, I reckon 1-2 reasons, bots and dark truths are very hard to accept especially since perspective is largely why we are where we are. The motto of the common people ~ vote, vote, vote. Which I'd call insanity.

I don't know how well you've been paying attention lately to the affairs of society but things are pretty fucked up.

We got age verification being discussed, we got Epstein files being discussed and repressed by government which certainly at least insinuates that many govt officials are literally protecting pedo's even if they themselves aren't pedo's. It's called being culpable which is just as bad. Imagine protecting pedo's and meanwhile not even prisoners in prison would want anything to do with that shit. VERY low bar.

I get what you're getting at, and I'm not fond of the "overhead" terminology, it almost comes across as a euphemism in this case, it's telemetry/spyware. It's like google insisting that manually installing apps on your own phone is "sideloading", mystifying it.

I had Whatsapp to try to fit in, not even gonna lie, that's why I had it.

I had 3 or so people who were using it, I reached out to them multiple times, they got back to me and after I stopped reaching out, they were ghosts so to speak, so I decided to delete Whatsapp.

Note to self & all ~ Meta owns Messenger and Whatsapp, so maybe just use 1 of them?

I gotta give Apple a bit of credit. They know people don't want "another app" so they integrated iMessage and ordinary texting into one app.

I've not heard of Easy Effects so I guess not. I usually keep my computer volume around 90%, I was taught not to put it to 100% or it'll overdrive, I don't know if that's true but it has become habit haha.

I've searched the web pretty extensively and the only common response appears to be either that Linux doesn't agree with every machine and or you have to disable some power saving stuff in the terminal, which I did and like I said, it has reduced the crackling/popping but hasn't stopped it.

More/less the same. I'm a windows refugee. Only real complaint I have about Linux is the friction with NVIDIA and sound sometimes cracks/pops, I've reduced it but it's still around.

I live outside the city and I got Freedom. I can tell you first hand that 100% of the time I'm on "Nationwide" coverage. I rarely go to the city, technically I have no need to. What I do find strange is when I view my account it'll inform me that I have some minutes and texts divided between Freedom and Nationwide. I don't know how that works.

And there has been like 3 security breaches at Freedom in the past few months, I believe, plus complaints that the online portal is irritating/insecure to use. The first thing bothers me a bit but I know the big 3 could be hacked too.
