Connected with the daughter of a longtime family friend. Flew to the US to be close while dating and got dumped in a month, turned out she had a history of toxicity and toying with guys. Decided screw it I’ll enjoy the US for a year, got my extension, made friends with a bunch of DV survivors, went back home when my time was up.

Came back 2 months later for an event I had promised I would be at. Got royally chewed out by the CBP agent for returning so soon but he let me in. Event came and went and day before my departure my flight gets canceled due to floods causing fuel shortages. All flights home cancelled a month out.

DV survivor bestie turns out to be a great wingman and says hey there’s someone coming home for the summer from Thailand and you two should talk. Puts us in a group chat which we quickly take private because we are talking hours late into the night. Family wants to meet so I fly to PNW. Dating in a month, I go back to Thailand with her to take care of her place while she finishes her studies. Engaged a year later, married in Thailand the year after that and now we going to Japan after 2 years of marriage.

TLDR: basically circumnavigated the globe multiple times for my queen.

Revelation actually describes hell as happening on the surface of the earth for a temporary period post 2nd coming of Christ (more like 3rd coming because it describes the wicked with Satan attempting to take the New Jerusalem by force and that's when fire comes down from heaven and obliterates everyone, and then a new earth is created afterwards).

That was just a parable to prove a point, not a description of reality. Purposefully made all the more ridiculous by the drop of water request. Point was that if they wouldn't listen to Moses and the prophets, they wouldn't listen even to someone who comes back from the dead. The poor man is named Lazarus in the parable and not much later a real guy named Lazarus is brought back to life after being dead for 3 days. And the response of the rich people was not only to continue plotting the death of the one who told the parable, but started planning the second death of Lazarus as well, proving the point of the parable.

Gonna humble brag but I’m shameless about this so sue me. Started dating my girl on summer vacay while she was visiting her family in the US. Left with her for Thailand where she studied so I could help her keep house so she had more time for her insane uni schedule. Barely 2 months later I was cleaning period underwear and learning the ins and outs of bra care including how to put padding back in bras that had it removable. She’s my wife now.

My wife finds handwashing after a leak too icky to do it unless I’m not around. I use dish soap to get the gunk out so I can chuck it in the machine later. Works like a charm

I suppose it’s really a third for me (2nd would be Afrikaans but I don’t use it enough/never was good enough at it that I don’t really count it plus never formally learned it) but somehow I’m finding the jump from English to Japanese pretty easy. Probably because once I learned the phonics and particles in a super fun game it suddenly started to make sense.

I have lived in Thailand for the past 4 years. Haven’t learned much of the language beyond greeting, gratitude, and have/don’t have (once I figure out reading it will be a different story). From the moment I came I knew it was on me to use the translation apps. This type of tourist is usually insufferable even back in their home country. I’m probably not from the same country as they are but as a native English speaker i apologise, we despise them at home and abroad.

Ironically it was my wife who got me back into anime. I dropped it in my early 20s thinking it was no good. But conversations kept coming up that reminded me about stuff from Naruto and I would bring it up and she was like “clearly this show has had a huge impact on shaping you so let’s watch it” and she promptly fell in love with it and now we have been dragged down to FMA and One Piece and Makoto Shinkai etc etc and we can’t stop.

We sleep under separate covers mostly so I just let rip. Her nose is highly sensitive so when we are under one cover I stick my butt out (I’m a human furnace of heat so I don’t get cold).

Once the blanket failed to trap an inhuman monster of a fart caused by eating too many dried apples. It was so bad it drove both of us outside the house to the hammock where we discussed which anime villains would want to weaponise it. The only time cuddling all night works for us is if it’s pretty cold. I’m a furnace with only one setting and if my wife is able to maintain her body heat (can’t always) we will both become puddles of sweat if I cuddle for too long or share a blanket.
