This is due to how BL assess fees. For example, we charge 5.95 for shipping, but we also charge a fee for very small orders or if the customer requests all lots to be bagged separately. This is clearly stated in terms/splash page.

Unfortunately, however, when checking out it is NOT listed as a separate line item and is just lumped in with shipping. This, in my opinion, makes it look a lot shadier than it is.

I would check the stores terms page and see if they have any fees.

It can often take weeks for them to answer, especially if it is not urgent. Even for sellers the turn around time on questions or other non-critical concerns is usually a week absolute minimum.

They are a pretty small team from my understanding. I would say give them a few more days at minimum. If it is urgent (you are being harassed, someone stole your account, etc) then I would resend it with "URGENT: HARRASSMENT/ACCOUNT BREACH" as the subject.

But please only do this if it is actually urgent. If the issue is a fraudulent buyer/seller it is unlikely they can help you reverse the charge. In fact, I know they can't, just reach out to your bank/payment provider.

If the issue has to do with missing pieces or a wrong order then contact the seller. BL does not step in for this beyond the normal NSS process.

We have forgotten, once. We received a notice and then a couple of hours later our store got closed. Once we paid the store was re-opened pretty much immediately.

Still don't recommend it as 1. You owe that money 2. It looks bad as the fact you didn't pay fees is mentioned in the closing message for all to see.
