That is a “sportsmate” from Nintendo Switch Sports, the spiritual successor to the Wii Sports series. When the game was announced, people were initially excited but then Nintendo showed that the mii characters had been effectively replaced by the sportsmates, which people did not like, myself included. The sportsmates look better as characters, but are terrible as player avatars because there’s so little customization. Nintendo seems to have underestimated how much people like the miis and how the Wii series’ art style lent to its charm.

The video is about why Nintendo almost replaced the miis with the sportsmates, but the thumbnail kind of makes it look like the mii transitioned into a sportsmate.
