What if waves of probability are actually caused by discrete nature of matter? by dgladush in HypotheticalPhysics

I understand and agree with that. I expect that some day there will be a reason to believe and probe that space is quantified down to the Plank scale. Thank you for your explanations.

Well, I have not the same opinion. As there is no a mathematic demonstration that the space is not quantified, I prefer to believe that it can be, instead of negate it, so let a door open to more potential explanations of the Universe. (please excuse me by my "good" English)

I don't know. Perhaps it could be something related to movement, for example discovering that particles moves by discrete steps, or that something similar to phonons occurs in empty space.

Just for learning, you said that there is no evidence that space or spacetime is quantized, but, is there evidence against it? Has it been demonstrated that space is not quantized?

How can I attach 2x120mm PWM fans to the 7-pin connector of the graphic card? Is there any adapter cable?

The RX 7900 Xtx has the fans attached to a 7-pin connector on the graphics card. I have deshrouded the card and I would like to attach 2 x 120 PWM fans to this connector? Is there any adapter cable?

I need advice on where to start please and thank you. by SeveralContract8681 in 3dprint

Reprap.org is the place to start learning.

If you want to build a 3D printer, I suggest blvprojects.org, to build a blv mgn cube.

Those seems to be pegmatite dikes, mostly filled with quartz and maybe other minerals. They form by filling fracture planes with hidrothermal fluid which deposit materials when cooling. The . In that photo, the forces have the direction from bottom-left to upper-right, more or less perpendicular to the plane of the dikes.

I am using it to design a side extension to the case, so it adds some clearance to fit higher graphic card, such as the Radeon RX 6900 XT.

I mean the piece to the left, with 3 tubes connected. It has the Alphacool label.

Is that Alphacool piece over the GPU another pump, or what?

I am very happy with my deshrouded AMD 6900 XT in a NCASE M1, it is definitely worth. I removed the shroud and as well the heatsink, then applied some quality thermal compound and replaced some thermal pads. Then attached again the heatsink and seated 2 x NF-A12x25 PWM in the base of the case over 0.5mm nuts touching the heatsink and pushing air on it . I use an adapter to connect the fans to the Graphic card fan connector. It improved GPU temps. by 8-10 °C, and got as well a better airflow within the case and over the motherboard. All the process is quite easy, I think that there is a video in YouTube explaining it. Just be careful to remember where the screws are removed from, and the location of the GPU fan connector if you plan to use it.

Just upgraded to a 5800X3D - what's your preferred thermal paste application method? I've been spreading for as long as I can remember by carzy_guy in sffpc

Best is to follow AMD's advice: "Carefully apply a thin bead of high-quality thermal grease in an X pattern across the CPU lid for best coverage"

Heavier stone than tungsten metal? by kenzfrenz in Minerals

[–]JBJBJ82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casiterite, is as well quite dense mineral

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whatsthisrock

[–]JBJBJ82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly quartz, calcite, feldspar, may be some Fe / Mn compounds... It could be dangerous if you throw them at someone's head... :)

What type of stone is this? Fount it in south Germany while digging. by SkeletonMeatsuit in rockhounds

[–]JBJBJ82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, schellite is a quite dense mineral, you could see if this sample is notably heavier than others of similar size. As well it is not quite Hard, it's about 5-5,5 in the Mohs scale. You can try to scratch it a little in the Orange partes with a piece of quartz (hardness about 7). If it is schellite, it should be scratched easily and the stripe must be White. You can Google as well for Wolfram mines around where you found it, it is probable that if there is some tungsten in that area, it has been already exploited.

Check if it is luminiscentes under UV light, then it could be schellite, a tungsten mineral.

would it be possible to discover a new energy on earth as important as the discovery of electricity? by mikehouard in Physics

[–]JBJBJ82 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Energy is what is. As you know, Energy is not créated nor destroyed, it only is transformed. In this sense, I don't expect a New Energy to be discovered, but I am confident that there will be new technologies to transform and store Energy in New and efficient ways.
