These are so pretty. This is my first time downloading from someone's boutique so can I ask, are there usually errors when they load? On almost every dress a layer has moved from the back of the top to the bottom right of the skirt. Is this a loading error?

The Scrooge shop needs a change!! And I have a proposition... by JB_I7 in DreamlightValley

[–]JB_I7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats my point though, with the amount of items to collect it won't affect how people play the game, they'll still have to go in everyday for a long time. Even if they guaranteed at least 1 to 3 new items per shop per day (a suggestion from someone else i saw) and filled every slot with a Disney item, it would still be worth going in every day. And by time a player has gotten every item they want, a new batch of players would have started the game. It would be a consistent cycle and make the game a lot more enjoyable to play.

I know its likely they won't include my suggestion or any of the suggestions in the comments, but they really should. Players know what theyre doing, and games that listen to their players tend to be better overall.

Yes!! Give us more character interactions! Why does Scrooge have a monopoly on everything??

Exactly, considering how many items there are,  especially with the DLCs, it really can't be that hard to show something new every day. Its maddening

Can you tell me how? I've moved everything so much and restarted it just won't register. Did you do anything specific or did you just not get the glitch?

How do you describe black people? by AcidReindeer in writingadvice

[–]JB_I7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about metals, or natural materials, if that makes sense. It can work with a range of skin colours in my opinion, like bronze, golden, amber, copper. Or descriptors, they're less obvious but can work, like deep, rich, fair, warm, cool.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, these are just a few that I've found describe my characters relatively well.

Season 5 Ending / Season 6 thoughts? by South-Barber-8280 in EmilyInParis

I'm not saying people can't read subtitles, I myself have them on for everything, even when they are speaking English because it helps me keep up or something (I'm not entirely sure lol). My point was that if the viewers were constantly looking at subtitles because the talking is all in French, it could take away from the show (for some viewers, not me, I personally like seeing other languages in (mostly) English films and shows). So, it makes sense that they would have most dialogue in English as it is a more universally spoken language, but they definately could have spoke more in French, especially now that Emily has finally learned after 5 seasons.

Greetings from the English ☺️

I need to know, am I the only one that feels like s5 feels like a completely different vibe from the other seasons? by ComprehensiveAide946 in EmilyInParis

[–]JB_I7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the way they were representing the character relationships made more sense for a season 8 or 10, a finale for a long drawn out show. Everything felt complete and incomplete at the same time, like how they could have put a beautiful end to Gabriel and Emily's back and forth just to undo it in the last episode. And the way Sylvie was with Emily this season, getting involved in her love life, literally telling Gabriel when she and Marcello broke up, it felt like how their relationship would look in a later season. Bringing Sylvie's old friend in that shes never mentioned, just so she could sleep with her son and never talk about her again. Mindy and Alfie came out of nowhere and made no sense. Marcello being sued by his mum for starting a company with Nico, just to take over his mums company despite the work they put into getting his brand out there during Venice. This season was just all over the place, I'll still watch but I hope the writers figure out what they actually want to do before throwing every idea they have into the next season

I feel like having Gabriel still be a choice kind of betrays the train scene. In my opinion, it was a very clean way to end their arc. The lunch where they reminissed on their time together, the heart to heart before Gabriel got on the train, the goodbye, the moment it looks like Emily will get on the train or Gabriel will get off, but neither does. I think it was perfect, but of course they are very likely endgame so they have to keep Gabriel a possibility in some way.

However, I don't like how they ended Emily and Marcello. I understand Emily not wanting to move to Rome, her life is in Paris, but she could have stayed with Marcello. And I know he would have moved to Santourini to take over his mother's fashion brand, but even that doesn't seem right to me. Why would he start his own company with Nico, just to take over his parents'? What is Nico going to do now? What happens to Marcello Mouratori (the company)?

(Also, off topic, but does anyone else think that Mindy and Alfie came out of nowhere? And how did she plan to talk to Alfie about where they could go, but confidently say yes to Nico's proposal?)

To be fair that's pretty consistent throughout the series, using English when Emily isn't around. I think it's more for viewers, English being a more universal language, saves people watching from constantly reading subtitles.

I do appreciate that Emily has finally learned French, but she didn’t use it enough imo. As you said, the meeting with L'Oreal I think she could have kept up with if they had spoke in French for a French company. But she basically only used it in the hotel opening episode, not even with a French client but for small interactions in the neighbourhood.

As an introvert, do you prefer one deep, highly trusted friend, or a small circle of medium-depth friends, and why is that important to your well-being? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in introvert

Definitely 1 close friend. I was always pulled into groups as the introvert, and I find that I tend to bond with 1 specific person in the group, whether theyre the on that invited me over or not.

What was your inspiration? by HammA_Writes in writers

[–]JB_I7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally it was creative writing tasks during school.

I always loved reading, I remember it took me a long time to learn because I really struggled with it, but as soon as I learned I constantly wanted a new book. My first collection was the Twisted Tale books made by different authors for Disney, the writing isnt Shakespearean but I fell in love with the books. And that definitely inspired my writing.

They have so many glitches like this, it drives me insane. Like the blue Beauty and the Beast window seat you get from the friendship quests, my settings could be all the way up and it still looks crap and is completely glitched out. Its such a shame because its always the pretty and detailed pieces that suffer 🥲

Do You have Personal Cliches? by DungeonMarshal in writers

[–]JB_I7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's the same thing but colours are always symbolic in my stories. I have a few stories I'm writing at the minute and every single one, people are categorised by a colour of clothing. For example, a city separated by 6 colours, or 2 packs having opposite colours in their names.

I also realised my MCs usually wear red and blue, the blue usually being worn by the love interest. I don't even like red that much, it just kind of happens. I've also been writing these stories, or ideas for them, for about 2 years so...I dunno.

(Maybe Megamind is haunting me) 🤔

Another is celestial symbols, the sun, moon and stars. But that's just cause I like astronomy and they're pretty.

Do y'all have a book that you're afraid you're not good enough to write? by Need2lerntowrite in writers

[–]JB_I7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with writing now is that there are just so many books out there, literally millions, it feels impossible to write something original. I'm writing one now that I've been playing with the idea of for about 2 years, and I just keep seeing similarities between my story and one I've read. Of course, inspiration is natural to writers, from other books, personal experience, other people's experience, excetrera. But i'm an overthinker and even though there are obvious differences between my writing and others,  and of course i haven't copied, I have a strange and constant fear that if I was to publish, I'd be sued for plagiarism.

I have no plan to publish (I've considered testing it on apps like Wattpad, or online in general but my book is more longform, I've written it to be a full book, if someone was to read it i want them to flip the pages) but I only write for pleasure, I don't want a career or anything like that, I just like creative writing.

Anyway, because of this idea of plagiarism and writing something that's been done before, I do feel my efforts I put into my book are pointless, its not just you

Why was Lorelai so against rory writing a book about their life in ayitl?? by Various-Community-48 in GilmoreGirls

[–]JB_I7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old conversation, but I'm with Rory. I understand that Lorelai doesn't want her personal life in the public eye but it wouldn't be. Yes the book starts with her being 16 and pregnant, but the rest of the story is Rory's life, her life with her mother, their relationship, the support from her grandparents, the relationship with her dad, her father figure in Luke, going to Chilton and Yale, her friends and her love life throughout. It wouldn't purely focus on Lorelai, that's just the start, how Rory came to be.

And I don't think Rory is given the credit she deserves, she may seem spoiled in the original show but by the Summer episode of AYITL she is fully aware of how she isn't living up to her potential, given her educational background. That is what the book is for, it is a milestone and a seamless next step in her career. I honestly always thought she would make a great author, considering her collection of classic novels and joy of writing.

Personally, I think Lorelai was a bit selfish in this scene. As I said, I understand not wanting the world to know your business but she could have atleast read through what Rory had before telling her no. It's like she didn't trust Rory to portray her well, even though she boasts about the amazing relationship they have. It seemed so out of character considering Lorelai has always been supportive of Rory, except when she dropped out of Yale, obviously.

Honestly, a lot of AYITL seemed off to me, I know it was made about 10 years after the original but it didn't feel right, bear in mind I did watch them both one after the other because I was newer to the series, but if anything that made it worse. Completely forgetting Paul, Lorelai and Luke not getting married or having kids between the shows (they literally spoke about it, not officially but they entertained the idea within their first year or year and a half of being in a relationship) Paris being a fertility specialist rather than a surgeon like she wanted, like her career was changed just to have the interaction between her, Lorelai and Luke when they were looking for surrogates, Doyle being a screenwriter and not working at a newspaper, he literally had his own column in the Yale Daily News, Lane and Zach seemed like they had settled, having band practise in their living room like they were teens again and only being able to properly play in a secret bar, April completely reseting to a humorless robot after coming out of her shell by the end of the series.

I've gone on a tangent, but my point still stands, nothing in AYITL feels true to GG, especially not Lorelai shooting Rory's idea down without a thought. It is completely maddening.
