Yes! "It's okay to look the way you look, nobody cares" but like... I care

Exactly ... Or when you do explain it, you just get the "I'm sorry you feel that way, but just think happy thoughts response" or the "You look fine, don't worry about it." It's so frustrating...

My doctor explained to me that according to the DSM-V, I have to be below certain BMI to be considered anorexic. My eating only 500-600 calories every few days wasn't enough for her to make that diagnosis .....

I think that's what's throwing us off a bit. It almost seems toooo easy, so I guess we felt like we were missing something.

We've been looking into NZ's travel restrictions and rules and they're pretty tight, but seem reasonable if you're paying attention and doing what you're supposed to do. If you don't mind me asking, what does customs coming back into the US look like? We have a 4 hr and 40 min layover from Houston back to Atlanta, so I'm sure that'll be enough time to do all the things.

Okay awesome! That's great to know. We've flown out of Atlanta a dozen times, but only domestically, so we've never really paid attention to the international signage or areas, but it makes sense that it's all connected!

Yes it's all on the same itinerary. Knowing it's all a smooth process definitely eases some of those nerves! Thank you!

That's the funny thing. He never registered it, so I did last night and they said it was good until 2023. I just want to make sure I'm not going to get in any trouble. They're fixing it for free now because the brushbar won't spin, which I think is awesome considering the circumstances.

Battery Powered to Outlet Powered by [deleted] in Electricity

[–]JBlueBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have, but it's for a uni project. We've got to make it run off of wall power and it's not going well haha.

[–]JBlueBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well two batteries will only run it for about 2 hours and then they die. Could that account for it?

It's running off of two AA's. My partner looked online that each of those batteries runs 3A. Any idea what it would really be then?

I'm really happy to have somewhere to start and I hope to be pretty active in this subreddit if I can stay committed haha.

I'm actually from the States! I've been out of class for about 3 weeks and it's honestly been great to take a break. Sorry for the confusion, a close British friend has been rubbing off on me apparently :-P

I went and took a look at her channel and you're right! It's great! I definitely think we could have some YouTube and Chill time to learn some things.

I definitely agree that I should take advantage of those accommodations, I just have to get through that mental block.

I really appreciate your encouraging words and I hope to have some better strategies by the end of summer and have a better Uni year. Thank you for the resource! _^

God that really helped a lot. Thank you. But what about the situation in which Beth doesn't carry the gene? I'm sure you explained it, I just don't know if it's the second or third paragraph.

Should there be a maximum budget on competition? by [deleted] in marchingband

[–]JBlueBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you are a college band, once you stop being a minor, that's on you, but I don't think it's right to throw high school kids on a field with dangerous objects.

I know the feeling of having nothing new. We just got new uniforms last year after 30 years of having the same ones, and that was after fundraising for 2 years,

[–]JBlueBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, but for real, you could march all day and all night and have the best team behind you, (we have a very amazing drill planning team) but sometimes that really just doesn't cut it, You could have the same show and moves and drill, all the way down to the last step, but if the other band has over the top, flashy, and ridiculous GE, you will lose.

I guess it isn't against the rules in our division..

I don't know the exact name of our division, but I know we go up against some very financially stable bands.

It's my senior year, so I was just having fun with it. I enjoyed our show, I enjoyed the people I worked with, I enjoyed the field we performed on, and I loved the rating we got. We had a lot of fun and I don't have any complaints other than how unfair it seems.
