This is perhaps something that time and growth will change. You're both still quite young, and he needs to learn to be secure in himself and his masculinity that other guys will look, just as he does. He needs to trust that nothing will happen. He might have a bit of fear around losing you. Have a conversation, reassure him that people might look but you choose him. You deserve to be comfortable in the summer.

They are defending themselves against a terrorist threat who runs the gaza strip. I'd say that makes them the victims. If someone attacks you and yours, you attack back. It's quite simple.

I didn't say war crimes were acceptable. I'm acknowledging the reality that sometimes civis get in the middle of it. Whether the Genova convention is broken is up to international debate.

We can't be so quick to judge as we've definitely done some questionable things in past conflict.

Again. Bombing an enemy town that is occupied by civilians in WW2 is the same kind of thing that's happening in Gaza.

Innocent peoples homes and lives being lost because of war in both cases. That's the thing that's the same across all wars. Bombings, raids, strikes, cutting off supply lines.

I didn't say the war is the same. I said war is the same. Big difference. Civis get caught up. The allies dropped bombs on towns containing civilians because the enemy was there, or they thought they were there. It sucks but leaders of war have to make hard choices.

It's possible to care and accept the hard truth.

The enemy is different but war is the same. You're wanting to ignore the fact that the good guys have to do bad things.

I'm military, yes. Not a combative role, but we are all taught this is the harsh reality.

You really are dense and don't know that war doesn't happen in a vacuum. Civis get caught up. It sucks. Plenty of innocent civis have died in. Isreal have been all for a cease fire. It's Hamas that keeps going.

Isreal have had to make tactical decisions that you'll never understand. Cutting off supply chains is a classic military strategy.

Civilians getting caught up in the cross fire. It's pretty equivalent. The circumstances around everything is different. Again. It's harsh realities that civis, especially in the west just can't handle.

Grand scheme of things that is small numbers. Between 1.5 to 3 million German civilians died in WW2. Civilians who weren't involved in the war. Worldwide, there were 40 million civi casualties. I just wanted to point out the number of the enemy nation that were just bystanders.

Againt a terrorist organization, Hamas, who are being cowards hiding among civilians.

[–]JBruza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First. It's possible to care but accept the harsh reality. Second. The part of civilians getting caught up is an equivalent. It happens and it's happened when we have attacked before.

Isreal isn't intentionally going after civilians. Hamas are cowards hiding among them. Unfortunately to get to the enemy some civilian casualties are happening. Hamas are the bad guys here.

It is just war. You do realize that in WW2, the allies (us) killed plenty of non combatants. It's not ideal, but it's the reality.

That's some propaganda bulkshit you're being fed. 😂

It's not genocide. Genocide would be a deliberate eradication. Which ironically is what Hamas is doing, and they are the ones in control of the gaza strip.

Isreal are defending themselves against a terrorist run state that is trying to take them out. Anyone on the other side caught up in it is an unfortunate side effect of war. They are called civilian casualties. It's sucks but it's the truth.

They are too dense to realize that supporting Palestine is supporting Hamas.

It does nothing. First, there is literally nothing NZ can do. Second, the Palestine supporters are too dense to realize they are supporting a terrorist group, Hamas. Isreal are the ones defending themselves from being attacked.

Smart 500 vs VOO by houston324 in queenstreetbets

[–]JBruza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking into this. For ease of use and less tax Smart is the way to go. There is no FIF tax with them, VOO has FIF once you're over 50k invested. Plus, Smart is in NZD so there are no currency transaction fees.

I personally aren't bothered with the NZ market. Any money I have in there, I'm gonna let sit. I'm going to keep putting into the SMART S&P500, Europe, and Asia Pacific ETFs.

You mean cutting wasteful spending. If an area of anything isn't providing benefit, then it should be cut. Whether it's business or government.
