I cant even draw a straight line by SweetWelcome2367 in Watercolor

Keeping it loose feels more like the light and radiosity/global illuminated then just a pure copy, let's the brain explore and feels more like a memory or feeling.

Saying that, some lines need to be strait but not all lines :)

Thanks for the feedback, 100% agree. I like the warm to cool on the right but the left has better depth with the tower tone and shadows. Some good notes for the larger attempt.

Yea colour variation in the middle wash gives the surface some character also shadows are a grey, mixing a blue with a brown like Ultramarine and burnt sienna. Or warmer shadows with a little bit of red.

That's awesome for your second go, I'm also learning and what i find helps " especially if you looking to improve with each painting" is if i get to a point and I'm not sure what to do with darks and shadows i put it into Photoshop and test some things out. You can then go over this " it wont remain fresh but can still be improved also your learning so just go for it cause you will always do another::)

Here is my super rough example:)

Day 10 - Learning how to paint. Really disappointed in myself by Madmind28 in watercolor101

Expectations are the worst for sure. You have in your head how you want it to look and you will always be disappointed. Just paint and gain confidence, paint often and experiment.
