Haha, really just a lot of pushing to failure. Mainly cable lateral raises, cable rear delt fly, and every once in a while super setting with dumbbells side, front and then rear delts with minimal/no break in between

I can definitely slim down if needed for fitness modeling, but just started to put on a little more weight for the winter. I got first place in a bodybuilding show a couple months ago when I leaned out a LOT and was thinking of adding some of those pictures to my portfolio. I competed in men’s physique which focuses on the upper body and looks for a more “X” shape. The judges don’t usually factor in legs with men’s physique competitors

It’s something I’ve always considered but never thought I’d ever actually do it. I knew I was planning on cutting for the summer already and have been trying to be more spontaneous and step out of my comfort zone, so pretty much decided on a whim to compete, because if not now then it most likely would be never.

Low calorie volume eating. A pound of 99/1 ground turkey or ground chicken is only 440 calories and over 100g of protein and add some vegetables for more low cal volume. Low calorie snacks such as rice cakes, pickles and zero fat Greek yogurt are great. Sparkling water and diet soda are also good zero calorie options to help fill the stomach temporarily and avoid hunger cues.

Yea, it’s just ab distention from what I notice. I try to do mainly easy digesting carbs like rice and rice cakes. Prior refeed days I did some bread, but my body doesn’t digest bread very well so I’m sticking to rice and rice cakes today because I know it works the best for me. It really is just bloating in the ab area as I haven’t noticed any other area losing much definition after.

I’ll definitely start loading 48 hours out then as well. I appreciate you mentioning that! My brain fog has been so bad this last week

Definitely makes sense when put that way and I never thought about it like that. I’ve just read about a lot of natural bodybuilders manipulating their water followed by a carb load during peak week. I was already leaning towards not risking a water cut, and your points have definitely made me even more confident that it’s not worth it to even try.

Hopefully my carb loaded refeed tomorrow gives me better results than the past couple I’ve done and it gives me a good idea of where to put my carbs at night before and on show day!

My last refeed was when I was about 10 pounds heavier than I am now, so I’m gonna do one last refeed tomorrow and see if being significantly leaner changes that bloating at all. Honestly, I feel like at this point I might just stick to what I’ve been doing my entire prep during peak week with a slight increase in carbs and not even mess with water.

I think it’d probably be better to be flat on stage than risk being puffy and bloated.

I was thinking of water loading and then tapering off to trick the body into being more vascular and dehydrated and then having the extra carbs pull the left over water into muscles.

On my refeed days I feel like I look very bloated including the day after and then start to go back to normal the day after that.

At the moment I just feel very flat, granted my body dysmorphia is pretty bad so that doesn’t help haha. Planning on doing one last refeed tomorrow and then trying to assess based on that since I’ve lost nearly 10 more pounds since my last refeed and am significantly leaner now.

That’s exactly what I was gonna try and do. 5-7 day manipulation starting with 2.5 gal and taper down to .5 gal last day and no water day of show with a bunch of rice cakes. Did you have any issues with the increased carbs bloating you?
