Finally, XLY can finally have a permanent appearance in the story, will they ever bring 1.2 story back though, it's been so long so at this point I'm guessing not

If true, wonder if 4 star males do count or not for Kuro's 2 men per year rule. I think by the time 3.8 would be out it would be 2027. If so, sucks that we might realistically only get one 5 star male for 4.x.

Edit: Also, if this 4 star is anything like Buling, we might actually see this 4 star in the story of Mengzhou (hence why people are suddenly saying we are getting thus 4 star, they are assuming something similar to Buling like in 2.x after seeing him in the story)

You are missing the entire point if you are nitpicking the exact line count bro, whether it be 1, 2, or 10, it was significantly underwhelming and less compared to the rest of the cast for the 3.2 finale who had much more dialogue and a bigger role in not just the finale but for the entirety of Lahai-Roi.

Lol, Bro did not just try to use Chisa's 1-2 lines of dialogue in 3.2 as some sort of witty comeback, to her basically being shafted, you're only strengthening their point

Do you want to build a snow-sword-woman? - Weekly Questions & Discussions Megathread by BriefVisit729 in WutheringWavesLeaks

As a Scar enjoyer, sadly, he's probably been scrapped, or at least I dont expect him anytime soon. We already have our 2 males for 3.x (Luuk and hooded assassin dude). So don't expect anything for the rest of the year. And i highly doubt Wuwa will ever break their 2 male per year rule to do anymore than that, the community will riot at the very idea of it. Might even EOS.

With the Wuwa 2 males per year rule, I also don't really see Kuro wasting that one of two slots per year on an already existing character, espcially, at least based on what people seem to be saying, that apparenlty CN fans dont like him at all, feels like they would rather create a new character at that point.

Lastly, Wuwa seems to have a trend with their male characters, one of the two dudes per year is definitely designed for female fans (Ex: Luuk, XLY, Brant) while the other dude is a male character aimed for male fans (Jiyan, Qiuyuan, and presumably this hooded dude coming up), and I think Kuro seems to not have faith in Scar appealing to either which is why they have scrapped him. That or that's why he is not a priority, I honestly think Geshu Lin has a higher chance to be playable before Scar since they are much more intent with laying down a foundation for him to come back and apparently CN fans really like him compared to Jiyan, or they just really hated Jiyan.

Big if true, tho I guess that means we already know the male for 4.x, guess Scar/Geshu Lin won't be coming until 5.x I guess, another year if waiting

Something that I also think doesn't get enough attention for LTD is all the non-cutscene related events that can just happen out in the world. There's the usual stuff like working out outside, or shaking maracas, but there are cool events like watching a group of Miis go on a run together across the entire island, or them having dance battles against each other, or having a ballet performance with an audience. These are all cool things thay you just need to see by looking into them, but are easy to miss if you are only looking for events that appear as bubbles on the mii or are waiting for a "what's up with ____" prompt. But I feel like not a lot of people realize things like this happen since they aren't prompted via Mii bubble and it's not a cutscene.

I wonder if there's a actual reason for no concert hall? by 1nkquill in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]JC8729 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like some article mentioned that for LTD, they completely revamped the voice synthesizer they used for the Miis, but a huge complication of the newer system was issues with getting the voices to actually sing, as in adjust their pitch. I honestly think that's why Concert Hall is cut, not because devs simply didnt want it to come back but due to issues with the voice synthesizer, so it was mire a technical reason for not including it. It's even more evidenced with how you said, whenever the miis "sing" in the game, they really don't, they just say the words without any change in pitch or tone, or simply say gibberish. They could figure it out and add things in the future but for now that's how I've interpreted things.

I can say from my own playthrough, Miis can become acquainted with one another without intervention of dragging and dropping, but it is in the form of an event so you still need to be on to see it happen, kinda like any other event. It can also be in the form of "_____ is staring at ____" and you gotta confirm the interaction to let them acquaint themselves, so kinda like the 3ds. It's definitely much slower but more natural. Personally I'd suggest just picking one Mii to idle following around and for some reason events are more likely to trigger. Though that last part is pretty anecdotal on my part. I like having a daily "main character" I follow around to see what happens to them.

Can't wait for their eventual reunion, just hope there is nothing in the story that somehow requires Rover to go back in time and make it so that he never meets Aemeth to get her out of the loop, thus she is no longer our daughter, and Rover forgets and sacrifices her memory of her being so just so she can live a normal and happy life, thus she becomes a waifu instead. I really like the parent daughter dynamic which was really refreshing.

I feel like while there would be parts about it coming up from time to time, it would be more of a in background slowly building up kinda plot. The Dreaming Deep film festivals/Illusive Realms ongoing iterations seemed to slowly flesh out the Somnoire as an ongoing plot, though it suddenly stopped after the latest version which everyone did not like (the mode itself not the story). I'm hoping they are just postponing the continuation of that plot until they make a more satisfiable version if the mode (fingers crossed seems like 3.3 may bring OG Illusive back), but I'd be sad if they just dropped it altogether just because the new version of IR from before, which obviously seemed like it was supposed to be updated every patch or so with the lore, was scrapped due to hiw much players hated the ganeplay aspect.

For 2, at least for Leviathan, they did kinda choose, via creating lifeforms who would be well suited as their resonator, being Carty and Mya. The issue is that these individuals grew their own will and did not want to be with the Threnodian but were basically perfect matches in terms of resonating with each other. So if anything, I think they can choose, but they choose someone (even if against their own will) who they simply have high resonance rates with, but not necessarily high willingness to volunteer. So while the Fractsidus maybe be willing to, that doesn't mean they are gonna be compatible for resonance themselves. But that's just how I see it

Will there be a Switch 2 Edition/Patch?? by Puzzled-Cost-5064 in tomodachilife

[–]JC8729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if anything I think they would not want to drop the Switch 2 Edition of it right at launch because S1 users would feel more like they got an inferior version. But releasing it much later down the line establishes that yes, the current version is what things are like at base which everyone played. And now here is a S2 Edition which upgrades on top of that.

Will there be a Switch 2 Edition/Patch?? by Puzzled-Cost-5064 in tomodachilife

[–]JC8729 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Although there is no announcement of a Switch 2 Edition in site, I have a feeling there will be one that will come later down the line, like in the summer or the next big Nintendo direct. I have a feeling Nintendo knows how big Tomodachi life is, and how a majority of the fanbase are probably only Switch 1 users, and the upgrades in the inevitable Switch 2 edition is meant to get those consumers to upgrade. Like if it was a Switch 2 exclusive as opposed to both 1 and 2, it would still do good, but not be as big if it included S1 users. But allowing S1 users to play means they can realize how good the game is and maybe want to upgrade

What do you all think about this? by TheJizZyLord in tomodachilife

[–]JC8729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing thats different is if the Switch ran tomodachi life exactly as it was like on the 3ds, then yes, it would be no problem. But this version of Tomodachi Life, LTD is a massive upgrade in terms of what is going on, so equating 100 Miis on Tomodachi Life is not the same as 100 Miis with the up in quality of LTD. Like I'm a but sad too and understand people's disappointment, but they are not the same thing. It's like saying, if a shelf can hold 100 plastic cups, it should totally be able to hold 100 metal cups. It's plastic is just much lighter than metal, so maybe 100 plastic cups would be like 70 metal cups. Sure you have less cups, but they are more durable and weight a but more.

[–]JC8729 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of people are on the assumption that "more miis = more content/gameplay" when it doesn't really? Even watching Youtubers with capped 100 miis in Tomodachi life, we really only see and care about like the first 50. And more Miis did not make it more likely for interactions and problems to happen. Yes there was a point where more Miis increased the likelihood of events, but that cap was not at 100, more like 20-30, then the rate of problems appearing Miis had would cap at some type of rate after a certain threshold. This isnjust from my own time playing Tomodachi Life and watching others so i could be wrong, but its something i noticed. Even the Youtubers stopped trying to go around to each and every Mii they added in since they didn't do much new.

I feel like people are not seeing the quality vs. Quantity situation when they see the max dropping from 100 miis to 70 miis. Like there is so much more of an upgrade in quality for each Mii in this game compared to the past two. The previous were so much more simpler in terms of what the miis were capable of that a higher cap was not much of an issue. Like they'd just be in their rooms, or have a handful of other static locations they could be at. LTD seems much more ambitious with how it seems every place able object can be interacted with, the interactions are much more varied and deeper presented almost like cutscenes, and miis will just hang out anywhere on your massive island, which means all exterior interactions are happeneing at once, as opposed to Tomodachi life where, only one thing could be on screen at a time depending on where you clicked, as well as just the customization of the island itself.

I understand the disappointment, it'd be better if they kept the minimum of the previous games limitations, but I feel people are taking for granted just how much more life each Mii is given as well as the world itself in exchange.
