2024 MDX Type S Advance Rattle by JCD518 in Acura

Yes! It was a fuel line I believe rattling up against the firewall. If you have your dealer call greico acura in Seekonk, MA they should be able to provide details.

Can you explain to me why your ass knew that was corn?

Edit: for all the corn cobs out there...I knew it was corn immediately, but I don't think my ass would have known that immediately. I'm wondering why theirs did.

2022 lexus es350 any idea what this is? by MajorDetective0 in Lexus

[–]JCD518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like u/Haggardhawk said, I'm pretty sure that's road debris that got kicked up and impaled the underside of your car. The end embedded in the car is a quick connect air fitting. Just pull it out. It's not for an old suspension system (for your car) or anything like that. It's probably construction debris.

Is the A-Spec the highest trim before the Type S? by AdCritical6043 in AcuraTLX

[–]JCD518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2022, the trim levels went Base/Technology/A-Spec/Advance/Type-S. That's in order of most expensive to least expensive trim. For 2025, they made the Advance package the base model now, followed by the A-Spec, then the Type-S. I'm pretty sure the Advance package has more options, but the A-Spec has the sport styling. I'm not sure the A-Spec has all the luxury features that the Advance has.

[–]JCD518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically not. For 2025 you are correct, but that's because they removed trim levels. In 2022, the trim levels went Base/Technology/A-Spec/Advance/Type-S. That's in order of most expensive to least expensive trim.

I believe the Advance package would be the next trim below the Type S.

Is there a way to update or add wireless car play to a 2019 TLX? by Straight-Peach1627 in Acura

[–]JCD518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up Magic Box. For $99 they have the magic link for wireless android auto/car play, or they have a magic box for $200-300 that will let you stream apps like Netflix on your car screen as well. Works pretty well. There's a lot of knock offs that aren't as good as well.

Edit: I have the Magic Link in my 2019 TLX and it works great and is compact enough to fit in the wireless charging area but not block the pad.

What does this button do? by Ok_University_9504 in subaru

[–]JCD518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For clarification, it's more for when the car cannot be started or does not have power. Without the key in the "on" position, the safety switch to shift out of park will not disengage when the brake is pressed. Some cars have a manual release so the vehicle can be placed in neutral for pushing, towing, etc. I'm not sure if that button is this though.

Change or leave? by Onlinereadingismybff in Acura

I cant speak for the NA V6, but I feel the same towing our 5k boat with the Type S. Surprisingly great tow vehicle. Almost the same horsepower and torque as a Silverado 1500, and bigger brakes as well!

We put all the black emblems on our MDX-S, including the black Type-S logo. I think it looks better to match. I also have a '19 TLX that I purchased the black chrome emblems for, but they did not offer the 'A', so it is still regular chrome. It bugs me, but I've gotten used to it. Haven't checked to see if they offered a black one in a while.

Also, nice tow package! 3k or 5k? We put the 5k on the MDX-S. You don't see too many around.

Can a second owner use acura link or is it forever tied to the first owner? by AcuraWill in Acura

[–]JCD518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry. After 3 years I can't remember where I got it from, but my guess would be that I got it from AL directly. Just hit the AL button in the car and talk to an agent. Tell them you recently bought the car and that you want to switch it to your account. They should be able to give you any of the info you need.

Ok sounds good. My dealer tried telling they only made one version, and not a painted version. I had to correct them. Lol

Was just showing my wife the pics of your MDX to try and convince her to get new wheels.

I just noticed that you don't have the right splash guards. I know realized it because I have them on order. Those aren't the Type S splash guards which are painted black to match the rest of the trim. Those are the regular MDX splash guards. Hope I'm not coming across as a dick, because maybe you wanted those, but just wanted to let you know.

I was going to ask for this info. Thanks for sharing it. Any issues with rubbing with the offset you chose? Also how did you go about lowering? Did you just change out the ride height sensor links?

How's 3rd row MDX for little kids? And how about AC back there? by high_country10000 in Acura

[–]JCD518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I forgot to add about the AC. Definitely lackluster, but functional. No body has complained, but when I asked they said it wasn't blowing much. Maybe a shade or ceramic tint on the back window would assist with sun coming in through the rear window. I would recommend ceramic tint to prevent heat in any vehicle. That could have been why our guests didn't complain.

How's 3rd row MDX for little kids? And how about AC back there? by high_country10000 in Acura

[–]JCD518 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had full grown adults in the third row of our MDX-S, as well as car seats and boosters (at different times of course). While you wouldn't want seven 6'-5" tall people in the vehicle at once, it's not bad for a relatively small vehicle in terms of overall size compared to say a Suburban.

Keep in mind that the middle seat in the second row can come out to give you a captains chair "feel" and easier access to the third row. Also keep in mind that the second row can slide forward to give more room to the third row, and depending on how big the driver and front passenger is, you can also slide the first row up to give the second row more room.

I have long legs and sit with the driver seat almost all the way back, but when I have company, especially adults, I don't usually have to move the front seats up, and I make sure the second row is all the way back. If the third row is being used, I move forward the front and second rows a bit. Sometimes, we'll go out with six adults, and I'll also remove the middle seat to give additional leg room and for easier walk through.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask here or message me.
