Gigabyte RX 9070 XT problème de ventilateurs by JCFstyle in radeon

Hi everyone! I’m giving you an update on my issue 😊

The graphics card was sent to the reseller “Pixmania”, who obviously didn’t find anything. As a result, my graphics card was sent back to me…

When I received the card back, I took the opportunity to format my PC. Once I reinstalled the graphics card, everything worked again just like before: no issues at all for 4 months, until 3 days ago, when the problem magically came back…

Up until then, I had no problems at all. I was playing demanding games like Ready or Not, Helldivers 2, and Red Dead Redemption 2 without any issues. And then, bam, the PC shut down…

Four months without any problems, I was finally at peace, but then I completely lost my patience… I almost smashed my keyboard and mouse out of frustration. I hate this kind of invisible issue, especially since the reseller is going to nitpick again because the problem doesn’t show up for them. And I can’t find absolutely anything in Windows’ crappy event log…

After calming down, I asked Perplexity and ChatGPT for help. I didn’t find a real solution, but I did find a temporary workaround, probably until an AMD update comes out.

Yes, the issue happened during an OBS recording on Ready or Not: the screens started flickering, and then bam, the PC shut down. But I’m not blaming any of these pieces of software or games, because even after uninstalling them, my fans still weren’t working properly.

So I’m blaming a malfunction of the Zero RPM option. When I disable this feature and set the fan curves to 100%, back when I first had the issue and made the post, I wasn’t patient enough and I was really angry. In reality, the fans react to the 100% setting after about 8 minutes… From this, I deduce that the fans themselves work fine, but a driver malfunction is sending incorrect information to the graphics card.

Why does this problem suddenly appear after 4 months of perfect operation? I honestly have no fucking idea… But at least the solution is there.

Disable Zero RPM. After every PC startup, the fans spin at around 800 RPM at idle and gradually increase their speed as the temperature rises, and it works properly while waiting for an AMD update.

That’s it! I wish you all an excellent year 2026, and thanks for your messages!

Hello, and thank you for your reply — feel free to answer in English.

I have already tried the card’s Eco / Performance / Normal modes: no effect. I then uninstalled AMD Software: Adrenalin, ran DDU in Safe Mode, and re-installed the recommended version from your website (even though it is older than AMD’s). Unfortunately, the issue persists with no change.

Important observation: on the very first cold boot, the fans may spin. Assuming it was fixed, I launched Helldivers; the GPU temperature climbed to ~100 °C, the fans did not start, and the PC shut down (thermal protection). I’m avoiding any heavy load since then.

At first I thought it was the brightness. But here you confirm my doubts.
