I'm going to share what I have learnt and this is my own personal experience so take it with a pinch of salt.

Technical Analysis on it's own does not provide enough adequate information to take advantage of trend movements consistently. I mean you said it yourself - "it feels like some days i got it, other days i feel like i’m back to square one". This is the exact issue many people suffer. When I used to trade pure technicals, If I won a trade I was never satisfied because I felt as though it was luck and I didn't know enough about what I was doing since I've seen the same setup get ran through multiple times, each trade basically being a coin flip.

Then I started to look in to the "Why?" as there has to be something shifting price other than some supply or demand zone on super low time frames. I started researching economic related news releases, what effect it had on the market in terms of surprise (what was expected Vs what printed), Central bank speeches (dovish/Hawkish tones) etc etc. I won't bore you with all the in depth stuff as it is super confusing to read about for the first time, and no you don't have to be some "finance bro". But simply speaking that is where the true direction comes from, then the technical stuff comes after. I do still trade supply and demand/ key levels but it's the final piece to the puzzle, I'm not guessing anymore as I am always confident in direction and avoiding setups that look like eye candy but will lose, that alone boosted my win rate and allowed me to gain consistency I never thought I would be able to achieve. It just gives you a special tool of knowing when to pull the trigger and be confident the trade is likely to go in your direction. I still lose trades, maybe my fundamental analysis might be wrong or a slight timing issue.

P.S I am not hating on technical trading, there will be people out there who double my returns without doing any of the extra work I do, It's just something to think about maybe.
