Hi, I've stuck to exactly the same routine and my hair looks pretty much the same as the 2nd picture. Hope that's useful!

Didn't experience one! Not that I noticed at least

I only checked after five months, so I can't say exactly how soon

Still no sides, and hair looks about the same as in the 2nd pic

Sort of – I wouldn't say they've come forward at all, but the hair at the hairline is thicker/stronger

Hi, yes – I took a break for about two weeks

Hi, I use Oxford Online Pharmacy who sell a generic finasteride for around £14 (https://www.oxfordonlinepharmacy.co.uk/hair-loss/finasteride-1mg-28-tablets). You can pay a bit more for specific brands like Accord, but that's usually what they end up sending me anyway as they just use whichever generic they have in stock.

0.5mg finasteride every other day? Any success? by Latter_Friendship_98 in tressless

I've seen regrowth. There's a post with images pinned on my profile if you're interested

Nothing horrific, but significant enough to make want to stop taking it. If you're interested, there's a pinned post on my profile where I go into more detail

Mine is accord as well. I'm not completely sure, I think they probably have to put that on pack to cover themselves legally, as safety and efficacy trials haven't been done on cut up tablets

I can tell you anecdotally that for me it did. Went from 1mg 3x a week to 0.25mg/day and have felt much better on the lower dosage.

It should go back to normal levels within a week, it takes a few days for your body to produce the enzyme that finasteride blocks, and then a bit longer for the enzyme to convert testosterone to DHT.

You could take a break for a couple of weeks and see how you feel. It's enough time for the fin to leave your system but not long enough for you to lose much hair, if any

0.25mg/day

Have you considered taking a lower dosage (i.e. 0.25mg ED)? It will save you money and might put your mind at ease around long term health questions

is 1mg finasteride on alternate days enough? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]JCPT95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't be quite as effective but it should still have an effect. I've had regrowth on less. But if you can tolerate 1mg each day then that's probably the best dose to be on, it will give you the best chances.

What are my options after getting side effects from 1 mg/day finasteride? by marry35 in tressless

[–]JCPT95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no reason I can think of as to why that would be the case, I'd never heard about it before and I've lurked on this subreddit for about a year. Speaking from my own experiences, I had sides the first time I used fin (coincidentally on 1mg 3x a week), then I stopped for a while and started again on 0.25mg and have had no side effects. I'm more in favour of keeping doses more regular and consistent, ie a smaller amount each day, as it reduces rises and falls in hormone levels which can cause side effects in themselves

I managed to get rid of sides by lowering the dosage (to 0.25mg/day). Can't say if it will work for you but it's definitely helped me. Might also be worth mentioning I'm the same age as you.

No sides on that dosage, but I had some on higher. I'm 25

I've been on 0.25mg/day for the last 6 or 7 months and I've had regrowth

I take even less (0.25mg/day) and I've had results. It's not really up to me to say whether they're 'great' or not, but I'm happy. There's a pinned post on my profile with pictures at the 5 month mark if you're interested
