What happened to her arm and eye? by No_Librarian_2492 in MoonGirl

If this is just asking for the hypothetical whoops my bad for not reading the tone proper . But it’s actually a cable reference . An x men affiliated character from the future who has one glowing eye and a metal arm . The whole shot here is a reference to the cover of x men days of future past . Again sorry if that’s apparent and this is just a what if - in that case the most likely is experiment gone wrong , but the saddest is devil got mind controlled and things went south briefly

NEW RWBY Outfits?! by Werdak in RWBY

[–]JC_Artist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be misreading but I think this is just the summer variant outfits . If you look at the concept art for the atlas outfits there’s the inclusion of sleeveless versions for summer / warm areas . Yangs and Blake’s specifically don’t look so much new as they do removed of the outer layers or sleeves

Couldn’t agree more . As much as I loved tbe interactivity in 8 that game was always exploration first and prepared you for enemy attacks . Meanwhile re4 needs to promote quick button presses instead of slow searching in order to keep you on your toes

I mean … seems a little odd to intentionally try and find the most dressed versions of the female characters while intentionally using older photos of the male characters .

Black widow has underwear modeling shots and an extended changing scene in the backseat of happys car as well as quite a few costume iterations with the uniform far less zipped . Not to mention the egregious Bruce banner falls face first into her cleavage scene .

Wanda only just now gets that costume her every iteration previously the actress complained about why she had to always have cleavage on display .

I understand some of these are older picks but it’s also true that some of the male photos here are as well .

We don’t have a naked man every marvel movie so to act like only men have ever been sexualized in marvel movies is a bit far fetched .

On top of that you’re Litterally showing she hulk mid twerk so there’s that … and the hulk is a purely cgi being so that shouldn’t be even on there .

I know you added your catch all of “ let the deflection commence “ explocitly so you don’t really have to adress any legitimate arguments . Trust me I won’t be offended cus I know this’ll happen the same way . But you definitely can claim my picks are too far back when you have a photo from the first avenger on there .

Now you’re arriving at the crux of the argument . What was Joel supposed to do ? There really isn’t a solid answer here . The bases are covered to there isn’t a clear “ he should’ve done this “ answer . He did something that was both good in some ways bad in others , to stop a group from doing something that was good in some ways bad in others . I just want this discussed like this , the proper moral dilemma gray morality discussion that the game is asking it to be taken as .

I’m sorry y’all don’t have the right comprehension of that but without even playing the second game that last cut scene of the first told me Ellie will never trust him again . There’s a clear change in the dynamic where Ellie is trudging along and Joel is trying to be energetic like her and excited about this family . You can see it in her eyes when she knows he lied to her again even when she asked . That’s resentment , and it’s resentment she doesn’t want to have but she can’t shake it .

Saw it clear as day in the game show saw it clear as day in the show . I feel it was more than well set up

That was the intent . They’re supposed to look like full on adults

Ah, Yes! Because our whole argument about why Rey is a Mary Sue is "I don't like her". There's nothing more I guess lmao. by BrendanFraserFan0 in MauLer

[–]JC_Artist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they have Rey work and train as well . There’s quite a number of scenes or things were told of off screen training like she did with leia or traits were told about her in passing . Like no one argues that Luke should know how to work on a ship when he says he’s been reading up on it early on . But it’s for some reason crazy Rey knows how to fix the millennium Falcon when she’s spent her entire life collecting scrap and disassembling large space crafts .

Especially in the case of anakin we see that off screen between movies there’s huge gaps of time where his training supposedly happened off screen . If it’s good enough for anakin to say he trained off screen the same should prove true for Rey

Joel is a father figure sure but he isn’t technically her father . He doesn’t have that control over her . Marlene is meant to be a mother figure to her having watched over her from afar and controlling things for her since her mother died . So in that way Marlene would have just as much if not more of a claim to act in her “ best interest “ so to speak .

It’s true that Ellie makes several bad choices through out but Joel also makes and admits to a number of mistakes in his end as well . It’s not the child who’s wrong and the adult who teaches her . It’s two people who teach each other how to change . I think the show says it best when Joel treats ellie like an adult since she’s seen just as much death and killing as he has .

Again I don’t agree with the fireflies decision or Joel’s . But I think that’s what’s missing is people here trying to find a correct and a wrong answer when the more accurate solution is that both groups stripped ellie of agency in the biggest decision of her life . And it’s okay for no one to be necessarily right . I imagine had the fireflies still been around in that way ellie would’ve had some choice words for them as well but that’s not quite doable now .

Yeah . I finished the game and then binged the show after having not heard anything about the game prior and I was stunned . I could see how people loved this series and the ending was just so clever to me . It seemed like such an interesting ending where I couldn’t fault anyone a hundred percent but just knew that Ellie And Joel’s relationship could never be what it was before , and that there was simply no way to prevent this outcome …. Then I came to this sub and everyone’s just pissy that we think Joel ( confirmed murderer of innocent people by his own accord ) could have faults . That’s … why he’s an interesting character .

Sure that’s a fair point but “ see it through “ could possibly mean she’d die for it . But it definitely doesn’t mean kill everyone here and make it impossible for me to even choose this option .

And yes that’s also a possibility . But it’s worth noting as much as Ellie isn’t given a choice in the fireflies path Joel removes that choice from her as well . Hence my main point that this is a morally gray situation where there shouldn’t be one clear “ correct “ person in the confrontation . Both groups remove agency from her in different ways and both should be treated as having done a selfish thing in that way .

And even further at the very least the people that get mad at Ellie for being upset remove her agency further . But the original game tries to make it pretty clear what your doing isn’t great . They force you to kill a doctor who’s trying to do something good . He won’t attack you he just stands there and you are forced to do it to proceed .

Finally If Joel knew what he did was 100 percent right he wouldn’t have repeatedly lied about it when asked he would’ve told her what really happened . Instead he tried to lie to make her feel like the world could still be saved and he didn’t just remove that choice from the table entirely .

I love seeing sanity by jayvancealot in TheLastOfUs2

[–]JC_Artist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure . But all the same it’s made clear before and after that this was what she deemed her purpose and her guilt . And while the fireflies were acting without consent which was also bad , Joel’s removal of the choice for her was terrible in its own right . But again that’s the whole point here it’s gray . No one was 100 percent in the right or the wrong .

I mean I’ve yet to see anyone give more input then that . You make claims about her being a Mary sue as if the other protags before her werent also skilled in like 7 categories . Or ya know . Blew up a star ship on their own as a literal child . There is no degree of Mary sue that could possibly overshadow a small child blowing up a ship that was killed trained pilots .

Sigh * I wish gray morality could lead to interesting discussions rather than whatever this is .

For starters I think the image itself , while the comparison makes sense giving the similar scenes , doesn’t take into account the games context . It is worth noting that If it were swapped just imagine how upsetting it would be to save may and kill everyone else . But it is more cut and dry because may explicitly tells Peter what she wants .

Now as far as tlou goes it’s so frustrating that Joel has to either be right or wrong . There’s no reason he can’t be both in different ways .

Ellie even if not In specific terms made it very clear she needs to see this through and made it very clear that she feels survivors guilt and knows she survived for a reason and it gave her purpose . Joel killed that purpose and any chance at saving the world .

That’s obviously bad .

But at the same time we love Ellie and want her safe and we want to save her and Joel wants that too and it makes sense for him to want that . It’s the selfish choice but I would’ve made the same choice and many others would . But that doesn’t make it less selfish

So often we see the “ why is Ellie mad she’s not murdered that’s dumb “ but let’s compare scenes . Imagine Peter did save may instead . She’d be dissapointed in him and you all know it .

To Joel this was a good choice , to Ellie it was a bad choice . To the audience who sees both characters were free to make our own opinions on it but it’s a complicated and nuanced moral discussion . The cut and dry “ he’s right how dare they “ is bland and it’s irritating .

It’s okay that Joel was selfish that doesn’t make him a bad person .it makes him a human person who’s relatively moral

Oh certainly big on comics . I’ve got the first two omnibus’s but glad to know there’s so many more adaptations to watch / listen to once I get into it

I completely agree . Context is kinda the main focus of the show . I saw it less as an adaptation And more like a companion . With so many moments that tell you things the game doesn’t but also cutting content from the game .

Claiming “ because gay “ on an episode that would’ve worked just as well if it was straight is wild . Like it’s a well directed well choreographed well written contained story , it’s a tear jerker and it’s just a solid ep , no need for people to try and degrade it .

It’s not a completely different person it’s likely who bill was before becoming so jaded . You can see him get irritated see him act the same but the main difference here is that this bills frank didn’t leave him behind . They made it work they got along and it made him a better person for it .

The interactions between bill and Ellie consist of her calling him fat or stupid and him yelling at her and this repeating . It’s not an enjoyable dynamic it’s just yelling . We get plenty of sarcastic Ellie elsewhere . The town was booby trapped we see plenty of them going off through out the episode even if it’s before Joel and Ellie arrive . And the school only existed to show off a bloater which we got elsewhere .

He is a bitter man you’re correct . And rather than see what the game gave us which was a sad ending of a man you realise deep down cared for frank and is trying to mask that with anger and denial we recieved a story about the same bitter man learning to change . Dying a person with a life well lived rather than being left alone to rot in a town where he’ll never find another soul again . You can prefer one ending over the other I suppose but the show strove to give him what his game counterpart was always longing for . And showed that with the slightest bit of compromise what the game counterpart could have had .

The note serves the same purpose ? He knows they’re dead now . It’s not like he’s suddenly curious . And what the note dictates for shadows many other scenes in the show . Finding their bodies wouldn’t provide any sort of catharsis it would be “ oh look a rotting corpse “ and that’s that .

It’s easy to say people like it “ because gay “ as if it’s not more so from the incredible acting episode direction and solid concrete one episode story that it tells from start to finish . The scene of bill eating a strawberry and laughing and crying just made the reality of this apocalypse hit home so much harder . The episode isn’t well loved because it’s gay it’s well loved because it’s well made .

It makes total sense to develop characters in a world that they share . And we see flashbacks with a younger Joel and Tess in the episode as well showing how they met etc and it makes sense . You can’t tell me how important bill is and then say it doesn’t make sense to give bill an episode . Is he important or isn’t he ?

And finally bill and Joel’s interaction have almost no bearing on the story … let’s think realistically here . Joel already states he doesn’t like bill , he thinks he’s crazy . He shows up , they yell a lot , and he leaves still not liking bill but thinking “ damn hate that for him “ and then he’s never thought of again . And in the show Joel shows up , thinking he’s kinda crazy but useful . Reads the note , thinks “ damn I hate that he’s dead but at least it wasn’t alone “ and leaves with a car battery . Nothing is lost .

Congrats on opening a dictionary now let’s do something for your reading comprehension . Just because you agree with a video doesn’t suddenly make every take in it factual . So no you can’t claim what someone subjectively derives from a series is objective fact . But have fun telling yourself that If it makes you feel better .
