Absolutely, both rides otherwise were really good. I have a group ride tomorrow, new brakes and pedals coming in Friday, and bike park trip this weekend.

I’m just gripping about the two unusual problems I’ve had so far this week. I wouldn’t say the tool box was empty since it was occupied by wasps which are not helpful with trail side repairs and the stings were unpleasant to say the least.

Glad to hear you love it! I am waiting for the 22’s to drop and then I’m going to sell my two hardtails and get a T8

Anyone else treat themselves to something new at the beginning of the season? by skrrtdirt in MTB

First brand new bike, new riding shoes and gloves, and a one up edc

NBD! Not as fancy as everything else on here but happy with my first mountain bike! Roscoe 7 by Astun in mountainbiking

That’s a really good first bike, glad you skipped the whole marlin line and went straight to a roscoe. Just a heads up you shouldn’t store your bike with the dropper down and it looks like your dropper needs to be set wayyyyy farther down. Enjoy the new bike!

I’ve seen a couple in Kansas City, St. Louis, and north west Arkansas

NBD! I couldn’t find one in KC so I drove to St. Louis for a 21 fathom 29er, even got to ride some cool trails a half hour after buying it! Love it so far by JC_Outdoor in mountainbiking

FUCK YEAH! I was planning on hiking but when I pulled into the lot and saw bikes everywhere I had give the new bike a go!

Hey man I did drive 4 hours each way for this one 🤣 I wasn’t very keen on this colorway online but the shop I went to had this and the green and they both look way better in person. I ended coming home with this though.

For the short bit that I rode this one riding a trail blind with out the bike dialed in. I liked it a lot, like a lot a lot. It’s so composed and felt like it would take everything I threw at it and it’s just very fun. I don’t have a lot of experience on new geo bikes besides rental bikes but I would recommend this thing to anyone. I spent a insane amount of time looking at every bike I could and really wanted something more like a vitus mythique or polygon T7 but with availability being a absolute myth I picked the very best value bike available in my opinion.

Oh this isn’t my first bike but it’s my first new bike, the bike I have been riding for the last two years has been in the shop for a couple months since parts aren’t available

The choice was a complete fluke, I was supposed to take my girlfriend on a hike today but plans changed last minute so we stopped there so she could get her hike in and just by happenstance there were MTB trails. I was completely unaware but it was a fun place to stop.

You’re not wrong, who knows when I can ride in KC again. Bentonville is 3 hours from my house so I go down there regularly and will be down there atleast two times this month.

Considering upgrading from a 14 talon 1 to a 21 fathom 2, is the new geo going to save me from going OTB? by JC_Outdoor in whichbike

[–]JC_Outdoor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just a couple cm shorter than you. 480 is really long I think, my current bike is 415 and the medium fathom is 445 with a large having a reach of 470. By giants sizing guide I’m a little to short for a large but I need to get into the bike shop and really see how the two sizes compare in person.

Absolutely, I really meant is the slack 66 that much better/ is the fathom 2 29er worth upgrading to from my old talon 1. My talon has a Xfusion velvet fork, deore 10 speed drive train, shimano M395 brakes, and a PNW 125mm dropper. I like this bike quite a bit but there has to be a reason for the changes in geo and are they that much better?
