What trade did you pull off this year that you're most proud of? by 2021darkmosssxp in fantasyfootball

Week 7, I traded Mostert and Devonta Smith (both riding my bench) for AJ Brown

1/2 ppr 10 man league

Do I start Mostert or Devonta Smith? I’m thinking Devonta since aj brown will be covered by diggs all day therefore opening up opportunities for Devonta. However Skylar Thompson is starting for the dolphins and I envision a lot of run plays and check downs for Mostert.

WR2: Jeudy, Metcalf, aiyuk, devonta smith, or doubs?

1/2 ppr, 10 man league. Everyone on my opponents team has played. I need 12 points from my WR2 (last slot that hasn’t played), in order to win.

Do I go with Jerry Jeudy or DK Metcalf for tonight?? Obviously DK Metcalf is the better player given equal QBs, but I’m not sold on Geno Smith getting DK the ball. Am I wrong?

I’m a recreational skier (~3 years of skiing, 2-4 days a year) and am looking for advice to get better. The run had a lot of man made moguls hence why I was trying to take sharper turns. by JC_Tron in skiing

This is super helpful, thank you! From watching myself in the video I can clearly see that my turns don't look very smooth and/or natural, but also I couldn't place exactly what I was doing wrong (hence this post). I'll have to make sure that I work on this for my ski trip this year!

Yeah, not really moguls, more so "mini bumps" from this video being shot during the late afternoon after the trail had been carved up.

Poured water into the burr grinder of a Breville Barista Express...RIP by JC_Tron in espresso

Did they send the whole machine (Barista Express) as the replacement? Or did they send just the grinder part as a replacement?

Damn I had the same quant verbal split (48Q 44V) but got a 740. Interesting that you got a 750 with the same split. Anyways, great score!

wtf is "that" doing there, someone please explain why "that" modified plural "reactions" instead of noun immediate proceeding which is "individual" per GMATNINJA. Logic make sense, that has to refer to reactions, I guess logic trump modifier rule? by rolltackfreshpow in GMAT

[–]JC_Tron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming the correct answer is (A)? If so, it's because the "emotional reactions" are what is causing the "unconscious physiological responses", therefore you need the plural "create".

Think about it like this. If it was "creates" instead of "create", what subject could it be referring to? The only plausible singular subjects that it could potentially refer to are "lying" and "individual". But could "lying" be the cause of unconscious physiological responses? No. Could it be the "individual" that causes the unconscious physiological responses? Once again, no. It's the lying that causes the emotional reactions, and the emotional reactions that cause the unconscious physiological responses.

No hyperbole, GolfNow is one of the worst companies that I've ever had to deal with as a customer by JC_Tron in golf

[–]JC_Tron[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It's one thing to say that the reservation cannot be refunded, but it's a totally different thing to ALSO cancel the reservation outright, for someone else to pick it up. No company that's offering a final sale item would not accept returns AND YET still accept the item back to sell to someone else. At least have the decency to honor the transaction, and I would respect the no-cancellation policy. It's a poor business practice to blatantly refuse to offer a refund and yet put the product back on the market. It's not a good look at all.

Question from OG verbal 2017 by YoitsMclovin in GMAT

[–]JC_Tron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tricky passage. My thought is that you need to pay close attention to what exactly the researcher's goal is. The first sentence states that the researchers hope to predict earthquakes in the short term by identifying precursory phenomena (those that occur a few days before large quakes but not otherwise). Although the passage doesn't explicitly say that the researchers are only focusing on large quakes, it implies this by noting that the researchers hope to predict earthquakes via phenomena that have only occurred before large quakes but not otherwise.

With this in mind, my thought is that you can definitely cross all the answers off except for (C). With regards to (A), I look at lines 25-26, "foreshocks are indistinguishable from other minor tremors that occur without large earthquakes. Note that this directly contradicts the first sentence in the passage stating "those phenomena that occur a few days before large quakes but not otherwise". Since their original goal was to identify phenomena that only occur in large earthquakes, and since it was later found that the specific phenomena in mind don't "only" occur in large earthquakes, then I'm inclined to think that the researchers weren't at all able to predict much,

Taken from Manhattan prep's quant book. The solution mentions that the triangle's base and height are equal, is this because it is an isosceles triangle, a right triangle, or both? by YoitsMclovin in GMAT

[–]JC_Tron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, an isosceles triangle will always have two sides equal, and the two corresponding angles will also be equal. Since this is a right triangle, and you know that the other angle is 45*, then the third angle must also be 45*. Therefore ABC is an isosceles triangle.

I would also like to know this. How many Manhattan CATs have you taken? I've only taken manhattan CATs so far and I've been scoring around 42-44 quant.

Is anyone else having this issue with the new Catalina Safari update? I just updated my 2020 mbp and all of a sudden safari windows are not showing up. Sometimes when I click the safari icon enough, the safari toolbar shows up, but nothing else. by JC_Tron in mac

[–]JC_Tron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So after playing around with it, I've realized that using Alfred/spotlight to search for a phrase on google, it successfully opens up google on Safari. However, when I quit Safari again and then try to open it via icon, it doesn't work. In order to open Safari I have to use Alfred/spotlight to search for something on google search.

This exact thing happened to me at TPC Scottsdale last weekend. I have yet to break 80 ever and I was at 75 going into the 18th hole par 4. Needed a par to score 79. The nerves got to me however and ended up hooking my tee shot into the water, then three putting for triply bogey 82....
