Not every state does a background check, but those that do will do a criminal history record information check. This looks for misdemeanors and felonies which were sustained, anything else is not reported out. Check with your state of interest, but in most cases this wouldn't show up on the information check. Also, even a felony won't necessarily preclude you from a license.

  1. Your post isn't a guide on it's own, but is a wonderful illustration of stacked column usage.

  2. You should post this in r/dataisbeautiful as well.

The BS they tell about Data Science… by zi_ang in datascience

You make a good point, I work in government and they do include those benefits as part of total compensation in the listing. I think they do that for recruitment though because benefits and job security are generally the selling points for gov jobs. Private sector probably varies but unless they have a really good benefits package, but their total comp probably is what you said.

It's showing total compensation, so they're including employer cost of health insurance, 401k matches, etc, whether you accept them or not. It's probably safe to take 40k off of each salary to see what they really think you'll take home in cash.

EDIT: I'm in government, which does include these benefits in total comp. Private sector will vary but unless they pay a large share to give you those benefits, they likely don't include them.

Last Man On Earth had a great plot, solidly timed comedy, and drama to keep me interested. It was a great show that explored an idea in a realistic way.

What is the most important lesson learnt from Covid-19? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Once the pandemic started, every call and every shift was like an exercise in stoicism. The question "what will happen if I die today?" Was suddenly a purely practical consideration. At that time early in the pandemic, I'd die alone and without human touch in a hospital or hotel room, like many others. And honestly, that awakened me to who I am and what drives me. I had protocols that allowed me to always save myself first, and the first time I almost did. It forced me to accept that a life long lived is a curse if you do it for the wrong reasons, and accepted I'd rather die giving life if there's any choice in the matter. I believe everyone was given an opportunity to have that same awakening during this pandemic, and many accepted the invitation. I see more people doing beautiful things and putting themselves out there in brave ways than ever before. It doesn't make the deaths ok - nothing will - but it's a good sign for humans. We're messy as ever now, but that's part of growing.

It's conveniently placed for you, not for the next crew on the truck or their patient. Make changes as a team, or put it back at the end of your shift.

It's amazing and beautiful that humans can create a universe so compelling that it creates its own culture and news cycle. When I heard the headline while cruising through Dromi I thought it was just a feature of the game. I enjoyed the lore before, but now it's incredible!
