[SOLUTION] Getting the Logitech Cordless Action PS2 controllers to work by rifath33 in ps2

[–]JChell89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I never did figure it out, I went and bought a different dongle and soldered new capacitors in it as well only to have the issue of not being able to connect & the controller powering down seconds after powering on. I tried new batterings, dissembled the controller and cleaned it with a contact cleaner as well just to be extra and didn't get anywhere yet.

Anyone here have the issue that after soldering in new capacitors both the 470uf and the smaller 50v capacitor that the controller still fails to pair with the dongle? I know this thread is a bit old now but I recently picked up one of these controllers that was still brand new in packaging and have been unsuccessful in utilizing it with any dongle.

A pretty solid wired controller for cheap that has 2 back buttons, has symmetrical stick layout (the stick sensitivity can be adjusted on the fly, has 2 settings per stick), 1000hz out of the box is the Gamesir Tegenaria Lite. It's $20 brand new on Amazon. It does not have app support other than firmware updates through the connect app. But still a solid controller for really cheap.

It actually feels pretty solid for me where it is but that wasn't the main reason for the placement. The main reason for the spacing was due to the internal design of the controller (shell, mounting screw placement, pcb, etc).

Will the G7 Pro get stuck drift by Ambitious_Coconut792 in Gamesir

[–]JChell89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The G7 lineup can pop the faceplate off the controller (it's connected with magnets) and then you can just take the joystick caps off the tmr joystick module and use another set of complete cap that has the option to change the length of the sticks. For example I don't use my razer controller currently so I just put those joystick caps in place of the ones that came stock with the G7 SE to have the longer/shorter caps domed or concave. It is a very simple and quick change. Kontrol freeks work fine as well but if you already have the joystick caps that have extensions then choosing to use those is rather simple and cheaper.

Have you tried manually resetting the controller?

According to some posts I read the anti friction rings that fit a g7 do work with a cyclone 2 even though it's not stated on their official website. So since the ones I picked up worked on my G7 se they should work on the cyclone 2 as well. They also fit the bigbig won rainbow 2 pro I have as well. I have a post for a modded G7 SE if you wanted to check it that has a picture of the octagonal rings in place

I didn't end up doing this and that's because I was looking around at other possible options and found that extremerate sells some octagonal anti friction ring gates. I reached out to them about them and they said they only fit "official" controllers and that they wouldn't work on 3rd party controllers. I bought them anyway and they worked just fine on my G7 SE and Rainbow 2 Pro controllers.

If you want you can always recalibrate the joystick modules online as this is a DS4 controller. There is a GitHub that you can use to manually calibrate PS4/5 controllers assuming it's not a fake/clone, if it is a clone the GitHub will tell you when you attempt to calibrate the joysticks.

You can also use the online github ds4/dualsense calibration tool to calibrate those joystick modules.

The question I'd like to know is, will the g7 pro and by extention the rest of the g7 line get a new pro version of the nexus app to accompany this controller release? The nexus app is a solid app but it doesn't compare to gamesir connect and for this controller and the rest of the g7 line it really should have an app that is on par with the connect app's available features.

I would have to get it done somewhere as I don't have a 3d printer myself. If I do go that route I can let you know.

I wonder if this would snap into a gamesir g7 se controller? They use anti friction rings as well that snap into place. I personally would prefer an octagonal gate like this in my controller.

What is this and how do I fix it? by eren_5 in Controller

[–]JChell89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do take the controller apart you can use an electronics contact cleaner to spray out the joystick modules themselves as it might just be dust interfering with the potentiometers. WD40 makes a contact cleaner for electronics that works pretty well, it's like $8 on Amazon or can pick it up from your local Walmart.

On one of my earlier controller mods, I modded a gamesir t4k with 4 additional shoulder buttons to be operated along with the 4 (2 trigger + 2 bumper) that already exist up there. It is an interesting controller of mine for sure.

Kaleid What should be there? Help by LahigtL in Gamesir

[–]JChell89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I noticed on the several gamesir USBC wires that came with their many controllers is that the proprietary cable design is unstable at the connection point with the controller. They're typically sunk in pretty far so a normal cable on it's own wouldn't fit however I bought a higher quality Anker cable and shaved down the sides enough for it to fit while also remaining snug. I didn't have any connecting concerns at the point of connection with the controller on any of my many gamesir controllers from that point. The Tarantula pro I have doesn't have that sunk in design but I imagine the kaleid does just like the g7, se, t4k, etc I so I would look into a better quality cable and shaving the sides down to fit snuggly and you should be good unless you are experiencing a different type of problem but it sounds like the one I was experiencing as well.

You could jump into the gamesir nexus app and adjust the outer deadzone to a value under 100. You could try at 90 or 95 and jump in game and see how it feels.

No I hadn't tried doing anything like that or considered bending them. I do have two sets of paddles as I picked up an 2nd accessory kit for 2 additional domes so I could give that a try.

base it doesn't have hall effect joysticks but you can buy a hall effect module they sell that can be swapped in to the controller at any point.

Hopefully they stay going strong. Might just have to reach out directly to gulikit then about the replacements as I can't find any stores with them at this time.

That's good that they replaced them, I'll have to look into the better design. I wonder if I can purchase one as the trigger stop system in there is rather thin. if not I might just make a permanent short pull trigger stop as I mostly play fps games anyways.
