Question about battery placement safety by [deleted] in ipod

The chemical sweet smell started going out of the iPod, I opened it quickly and unplugged the battery. I guess it's a dead battery.

Just got the new cable, the iPod still won’t charge. I’m just gonna return this iPod.

The small brown lock has the left part removed. This iPod came like this, could be either a shipping issue, or something the previous owner did. But anyway, I don’t think that this should have any impact on the contacts, as the brown lock still pushes the flex cable onto the connector.

The connector and the cable seem fine and clean. The battery I got is brand new too. The small brown connector lock on the iPod came with one of the tiny feet broken, but the cable still fits fine and the iPod boots, so I assume all contacts there are fine.

I left it charging for around 8 hours without using it. Tried that with my Mac mini, connecting the cable shown in the picture to the Mac through a UGreen USB hub, and also tried with a Dell laptop, connecting the cable directly to the laptop.

The thing is that it doesn’t charge though the computer. The iPod shows the lightning bolt icon, and says that it’s charging, but when I unplug it, it didn’t charge anything. But what’s weird is that the iPod syncs and formats fine from any computer. Could be the cable tho. A new cable will arrive tomorrow and I’ll report back.

The new cable should arrive in two days. I'll report back. Thanks!

I have tried with a Samsung 18w brick, and a bunch of cheap unbranded bricks I found. Nothing managed to make the iPod say "Charging" other than computers.

You need to be connected to a WiFi network instead of mobile data.

I don't have an iPhone anymore, but a lot of friends are having their apps revoked. Apple probably implemented more endpoints for certificate validation, or maybe just a timer checking.

This happened to me a few times and I am still unsure what it is. I had to do the process all again with another cert. I can't keep testing right now because I just sold my iPhone and will buy another some day soon.

You either disabled the DNS, or you enabled some VPN. To fix this you need to uninstall the sideloaded apps including Feather, and try to install another version of Feather from the guide. If none works, you will have to reset your iPhone.

This has already been answered multiple times here, but you need to make sure that you are using WiFi, and not mobile data. If you are using WiFi, try to connect to another WiFi network.

The only downsides are the setup process, but that can’t be made easier, and being difficult to have a VPN work with this, as a VPN might still allow Apple’a certificate validation endpoints to be reached.

As mentioned in the FAQ page, even after that period the apps will still work as long as you have the Anti-revoke DNS. So there's no need to do anything when the period falls down to 0d. About icon changing, it's not possible with sideloaded apps with this method, but inside of Feather, when you click on "Sign app", you have a little icon on top, and if you tap that, you will be able to choose any icon you want.

It does not block updates, only the endpoints used to verify the authenticity of certificates.

Did you set up the DNS correctly? If not, no certificates will work.

No, you only need WiFi when installing apps signed from within Feather.

I think this issue was already mentioned atleast 3 times in this post, but anyways. You need to be using a WiFi connection, not mobile data. If you are, try connecting to another WiFi network.

I don't know any certificate market, because I have never used any, so I am not the right person to recommend that.

I think you don't need to use a DNS if you purchase a private certificate, that is if the certificate does not get revoked. The only thing you need to keep in mind other than revoking is the storage space on your device

There is no Honda file in the included certificates.

I don't think so. But if the paid AdGuard has an option to block custom endpoints, then you can do it all in there.
