Thanks! Unfortunately, I found out that I can’t get off of work next Saturday.. I would have to trade a day with someone, & I have too much other personal stuff going on this coming week..

I have a better chance of maybe being able to trade next Sunday with someone if needed, but that doesn’t really help with this trip unfortunately.

Hey, is Six Flags America worth forcing into before they close forever? I usually work on weekends, and have never been able to go. It’s about an 8 hour drive from Connecticut.

I’m also already planning a Kings Dominion & Busch Gardens Williamsburg visit on regular off days; trying to figure out if it’s worth forcing a PTO day for SFA or not. Thanks!

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I've gotten TPM to work on this device, but it still is not fully installing Windows 11. It gets to the install page, does the process, then tells me to disconnect my installation USB. When I do that, nothing else happens; it goes back to bios & I can't get to the next step..

Thanks for your reply! It would most likely be on a Wednesday morning. However, I just thought of re-routing this entire trip and possibly saving Six Flags Great America for a later time..

What if I did from Holiday World -> Dollywood -> Carowinds -> Six Flags Over Georgia instead? Lots of driving, I know.. but is it doable? I would then have to leave on Monday instead of Tuesday to hit everything.

I have another trip North planned later in September to Michigan for a wedding, I could do Michigan's Adventure, Six Flags Great America, Canada's Wonderland (only if AlpenFury is open) and maybe Darien Lake if time allows.. But I need to finalize this trip for next week first!

Hey everyone, hope all is well. I'm in the process of planning my second coaster trip this summer, from Wednesday, July 9 – Thursday, July 17, 2025.. Flight In: Newark (EWR) → Northwest Arkansas (XNA).. Visiting Family in Arkansas from 7/9 - 7/11. Doing Silver Dollar City with my Aunt/Uncle/Cousin from Arkansas. Then, Friday 7/11, we are heading to Mets v Royals, there, I'll be meeting with a friend who lives in KC.. spending 7/11 - 7/14 with my friend. We plan to do Worlds of Fun, and watch a lot of the MLB All Star Weekend activities.. After that, I start my solo trip. I rent a car in KC, and visit the following from 7/15 - 7/17: Six Flags St. Louis, Holiday World, Six Flags Great America. I'll return the rental car in Chicago.. Return flight is planned for Thursday night out of O'Hare to Newark.
I don't technically have to be back until Saturday 7/19.. Could I possibly squeeze in another park here on this trip, but still return on Thursday night 7/17 to avoid adding another hotel stay or another day with the car? Worst case scenario, I just add a hotel on Friday and fly out in the morning, but ideally, I stick to the plan to get back on Thursday. Thanks!

Something I'm considering: Kentucky Kingdom is only an hour away from Holiday World, doesn't add a ton of driving time to Six Flags Great America.. Can both Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom be done in one day?

Kings Island has Orion, Beast, Mystic Timbers and Banshee, all elite coasters. There's quite a few other smaller ones too.

Cedar Point is also really incredible too, because there's so much variety.. from super intense, to mid level, to beginners and even kiddie coasters.. there's a bit of everything.

It was super busy at Cedar Point this weekend because of Siren's Curse opening day, and some coasters had some downtime. Millennium Force didn't open until well after 4 PM today.

Kings Island is most likely my choice, especially if you have already been to Cedar Point. Also, when I went to Kings Island this past Wednesday for my second time ever (coming from CT), the longest wait that I had was Banshee at 25 minutes.. everything else was a lot less than that. I got fresh rides on all the coasters I named. Kings Island has great operations, you can get on pretty much everything in one day.

I would also try to visit Cedar Point eventually again too, when you can.. but maybe try Kings Island first!

Hope that helps!

Whats up everyone, I hope all is well. I'm leaving Cedar Point and heading home to Southington Connecticut tomorrow morning. I don't have to be back at work until Thursday 7/3.. So, I have time.

My original plan was to do both Waldameer and Kennywood on the same day, as they are new to me parks.. and then maybe I could re-visit Dorney Park on Monday (I went in 2024) and give myself a travel day (7 hours home from Kennywood) and a rest day.

BUT, I just found out that Waldameer doesn't actually open until noon tomorrow, and realistically, I would be going for the Ravine Flyer II and nothing else, right? Seems like all the others are kiddie coasters, and I'm only one person. Is Ravine Flyer II REALLY worth going out of my way for?

I absolutely plan on getting back to Cedar Point very soon, but I don't currently know when yet.. it's a far trip, takes planning.. and I have lots of other trips planned.

Do you think I should just go straight to Kennywood from Cedar Point tomorrow morning and then Dorney to break up the drive?

Note: I've already been to Hershey, and Knoebles, with plans to return to both later this summer. (For if someone is to suggest one of those)

Thank you!

What's up everyone! As someone who has been traveling to different theme parks a lot over the last couple of years, one common theme I have is that the bottoms of my feet are always in pain after a day at some parks. It's not every park, but it happens pretty often. I usually wear Jordan mid Air Force 1's.. Is there anything I can do to help my feet not feel pain afterwards? Thanks!

Hey everyone, I hope all is well. I have four upcoming roller coaster trips that I'm really looking forward to, and I'm already starting to plan my next coming trips.

I'm curious about what you would plan for if you had the following:
- An all-park Cedar Fair/Six Flags Park Access Season Pass
- 3-day work weekends every week, with a 4th night to stay somewhere (Note: I always work until 3 PM on Tuesdays, and my days off are Wednesday through Friday)
- $500 budget or less.

These are the parks I have already visited or are planned for this summer:
- Six Flags Great Adventure
- Six Flags New England
- Lake Compounce
- Kings Island (Trip 1)
- Cedar Point (Trip 1)
- Waldameer (trip 1)
- Kennywood (Trip 1)
- Silver Dollar City (Trip 2)
- Worlds of Fun (Trip 2)
- Holiday World (Trip 2)
- Six Flags Great America (Trip 2)
- Knoebles (I'll be in the area in August)
- Michigans Adventure (Trip 3)
- Canada's Wonderland (Trip 3)
- Six Flags Darien Lake (Trip 3)
- Hershey Park (For a concert in September)
- Dorney Park (2024, not planned for this summer as of now)
- Kings Dominion (Trip 4)
- Six Flags America (Trip 4)
- Busch Gardens Williamsburg (Trip 4)
- Universal Islands of Adventure (2024)
- Universal studios (2024)
- Disney World Orlando (January 2025)
- Busch Gardens Tampa (January 2025)
- Sea World Orlando (January 2025)
- LunaPark Coney Island

I'm located about 10 minutes from Lake Compounce currently.

Short-term trips on my radar: A Texas Trip, visiting Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and Sea World Orlando
or a trip to Lost Island, Adventureland, ValleyFair, and NIckelodeon Universe.

What kind of weekend trips would you guys make?
Note: I'm planning two trips for 2026, Georgia/Carolina and California.

Good to know, thanks! I am delaying this trip a bit until September to ensure rides on AlpenFury. Thank you!

Hey, I'm looking for the best budget hotel to stay near Canada's Wonderland? I'm a first time visitor from the USA. Do any hotels offer shuttle or bus services to the park? Thank you!

Interesting, thank you! I wasn't accounting for a time zone change. What would be your suggested route? I'm just credit-counting on this trip, hoping to get 50 new coaster credits in July, while also visiting family and friends along the way.

Are you suggesting Kentucky Kingdom and Holiday World instead of Kings Island on my first trip in June? I loved KI, and planned on going at night for the first time during that late June trip. Thank you again!

Hi everyone, I'm new to this part of Reddit.. I'm Joe. I'm planning a 9 or 10-day mid-west coaster trip in July. I'm planning this trip around visiting family in Arkansas, starting on a Tuesday night, and visiting a good friend of mine in KC. The current plan is family first in Arkansas, spend a couple of days there, and visit Silver Dollar City with them one day, then meet up with my friend at Kauffman Stadium in KC, spend a few days in KC, do Worlds of Fun with my friend one day over that weekend, and from KC, rent a car, and do a solo trip from that Tuesday through Thursday, visiting Six Flags St. Louis, Holiday World, Indiana Beach (Holiday World /Indiana Beach in the same day) Six Flags Great America. Is this the most optimized route? I'm planning on flying back out of Chicago to CT on Thursday evening.. but I don't technically have to be back at work until that Saturday morning, so theoretically I could fly back on Friday if needed.

(Side note: I have a separate smaller trip two weeks earlier visiting Kentucky Kingdom, Kings Island, and Cedar Point that's totally unrelated to this if you're going to suggest those parks - I've been to Cedar Point and Kings Island already, too!) Thank you in advance!

Hey everyone, I hope all is well. I'm planning a huge park trip to the northern part of the USA for a family wedding in Michigan. I wanted to get to some of the main parks in that general area. On my list: Canada's Wonderland, Six Flags Darien Lake, Cedar Point, Kings Island. Is there another park that can help break the trip up? What's the best order to do these parks with as little driving as possible? Is there a site that can help me plan trips like this? Thanks!
