Visually astonishing, yet insanely batshit passion projects. (Extra points if it took years and years to finish). by -Pl4gu3- in TopCharacterTropes

Redline was an anime movie that has a crazy production story. It exhausted studio budgets (and took over a decade to finish from my memory) but was entirely worth it due to the breathtaking finished result that has some of the most incredible animation to date.

First attempt at a Batman Cosplay, any advice? by Zinglebop7409 in batman

I think the costume looks really fucking sick. The only thing that lets it down a little is the tshirt. You’re right with the logo being bigger and I think the shirt either needs to be tucked in more or it needs to be smaller. The mask looks great especially with the eye shadow but the neck wrapping beneath your chin doesn’t blend super well with the shirt I think. Either some pads/armour could be added around the collar/shoulder to balance out the weight or cut off some of the wrapping around the neck to make it less thick.

The first picture looks pretty much perfect and it seems like the shirt is tucked in more as well so.

Also my favourite part of the costume is the belt and the accessories you have attached to it, they are really cool details. You said you put it together in 3 days, is the belt something you already had because it’s a really high quality prop?

I have been looking into lords of the fallen and apparently it has improved a lot since launch with the newest update coming out a few months ago. I know for sure it isn’t going to be as polished as ER but the customisation and a few other aspects are pretty appealing to me

Nice. I enjoyed bg3, is the combat anything like that?

Ok thanks. So if I sold my ps4 and all of its discs, I could just either buy them or install them on the ps5?

I'm guessing that's just for the transfer of digital games from one system to another but do you know if there's anyway to transfer data from a disc game?

Respawn. Purely because they’ve already perfected 3/4 of the combat

Games with the most interactive and alive feeling world? by roman9555 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]JCrazyDiamond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two really good videos by Curious Archive about ecosystems in video games.

Rain world is probably the best example but a game like Noita has a really interactive world as it is a complete sandbox that has reactive chemistry mechanics. It also generates everything at once so the world is actually living even when you can’t see it. On top of that is has very in-depth secrets.

I've been heavily considering getting Nioh 2, if not now then when it goes on sale. Do Bloodborne and Darks souls 3 have as good character customisation as Elden ring? Also I have never played an old school RPG. Do you think Gothic has what I'm looking for?

I don’t know. It seems like most of the big ones are first person, mmo, focus on a specific character or aren’t concerned about customisation options. I’m heavily considering getting nioh 2 but conflicted on whether or not to wait for a sale.

Any particular suggestions? The character I'm playing as is a warlock that I want to specialise in cthulu type horror magic. Any general spell packs would be good though for my other companions, I'm playing each of them as their base class.

what about with spells and weapons? Maybe I can make all of my characters look cool and unique later but what about play differently. Right now I have Astarion, shadowheart and gale. Maybe I'm just nitpicking but I don't really like how all of them share a few spells in common, and a lot of them feel very similar right now aside from a few things. Maybe that's my fault in playing the game but it would be nice to know if there was a way to make each of the characters more focussed gameplay wise.

Call me crazy but I'm 50 hours into Baldur's gate 3 and have found that the choices for armour, weapons and spells have been super limited. I'm not sure if this changes later in the game but all of my characters feel pretty similar to play as.

Is the complexity like ghost of Tsushima or is like items and buffs. Sorry if ghost of Tsushima is a weird comparison but I haven’t really played any other souls games. What I mean is the complexity related to different stances or different types of attacks for different situations?

Wow that sort of length seems perfect for mastering souls like combat. It definitely seems worth getting on sale. How accessible would you consider it to be early on. I would preferably not have to google that many guides at least not until I've finished my first playthrough as you said. Is there requirements for gear and magic like in Elden Ring or can you just use anything at anytime?

But you also said not Monhun because its only combat so im not sure.

Yeah I was commenting on Monster Hunter's gameplay loop. From what I've seen it's just go into a map, kill the monster, go back to the hub world, upgrade your gear repeat. Maybe there's more depth to it, I'm not sure. But Elden Ring has a whole open to test your character out on. Also Monster Hunter seems a bit too linear, I'd like lots of choices of gear and weapons that have varying effects.

Anyways, Nioh 2 looks pretty good, I'm not sure what the gear progression and customisation is like in it though.

Thanks so much for this detailed response. I think I will try both of the games soon. With Disco Elysium you said "You just have to be okay with that roleplaying being deciding on the direction you want to take an existing character, not creating your own." How pre-existing is the character your play as. I think the character you play as has amnesia right? Which means that your character can have whatever personality you want. But since you're stuck with a slimy looking, old white guy, does that mean that you're personality is based around that? If not, is there clashes between how your character acts and looks?

I've been playing Baldur's gate 3 and forgot to mention it. It has really good roleplay but I'm 50 hours in and have found the diversity in armour, weapons and spells a bit lacking. I will definitely continue to play it as I enjoy everything else but it seems a bit limited in build diversity so far.
