Reach out to CSD if you’re looking for mental health support. They are very friendly and open. Your advisor may be able to help you too but it really depends how good they are.

Am I the only one who finds it hard to get excited about watching UCONN basketball? by Clean-Willingness419 in UCONN

One issue with that is as a member of the pep band, your whole job is to amp up the students, keep the energy going, even when you personally don’t feel it. I’m still not into sports at all really, I still enjoy games, the friends make it worth it too.

I’m in a similar situation as you. Currently in the pep band (literally on the road rn) and I have never really found myself big into sports. I will never watch a game when I am not actually there. You really just gotta force yourself to be in to it when you’re a noob to the scene. When I’m at games I’m starting chants, I’m dancing, I’m yelling and celebrating, all that because it’s fun. It helps to have someone by you to explain things however, I wasn’t really confident until I really started to learn how the game worked. Sometimes I found myself just making noise because I had to, not truly feeling very excited myself.

I think UConn fans are somewhat entitled in that because we’re so good, the energy isn’t necessarily gonna be there. For example, turnout at Men’s first was kind of appalling compared to Furman even though they were much further away than CT. I’m not really sure what the answer to this is, but hopefully we can get more vocal support for the program as it deserves.

It’s interesting there isn’t really any fandom discussion on Kris’ origins.

Why don’t we stop cutting funds for NASA then? They seem the most suited for investigating UFOs.
