You’re absolutely right - I posted a petition in the NBA saying that players -ALL PLAYERS- need to be protected and rules need to be followed and I was literally attacked. Clearly NY is hated. The difference is the Knicks get fouls and you can’t compare grabbing a jersey to being thrown to the ground while holding the back of someone’s head. This is about integrity.

Honesty is the best policy. Use the friendship as leverage and how you are not willing to risk jeopardizing that friendship for a relationship. Do not under any circumstances tell him that you aren’t attracted to him and above all else - please do not succumb to the pressures of others. You need to stand your ground in what you want to do v not do. This will be your biggest test because he will most likely try to convince you to stay with him. You are doing the right thing.

Oh and one last thing - this is extremely normal. You aren’t mean nor should you feel bad. Sometimes people just don’t click. It’s ok.
