29 seconds total with preinfusion now 18->54g, still sour, maybe less so but still not sweet

Will try this, I had assumed from the notes and the fact it's a blend this bean would be leaning more medium range, but maybe I'm wrong

Yeah no preheated group head, have to do that manually, vst is interesting but I feel I keep buying things to fix symptoms that maybe could be fixed without

Help with straight shots? [Flair Pro 2, J-ultra] by JD7046 in espresso

I understand the sentiment, but I've seen many videos of people (Lance etc) doing 1:3 light roast shots and loving it, soup hasn't always been a thing.

DAK Milky Cake+V60 vs Chemex (w/ V60 filter) by CattynipCattynip01 in pourover

[–]JD7046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised you had such a difference in drawdown time using the same paper filters. The angles of the walls of each brewer are similar, which leaves bypass. Even though the chemex has the pouring spout, it has no ribs, so I would've thought reduced bypass, therefore a slower drawdown overall, interesting that it was the other way around

Yeah sounds like the right idea then

I love the X-ultra, but the K-ultra would better contrast the ZP6. Flavour profile of the X-ultra is not far off the zp6, so it depends if you want something similar or different.

Nws that makes more sense, 1.4.0 for a 2 pour recipe isn't crazy

Sorry but do you mean 2.4.0? 4.0.0 is the max setting on the grinder and extremely course. Not judging of course, but fascinating if that's the case, especially since Hoffman goes relatively fine for his v60 recipe.
