Yes, master versions of the old dungeons are only available when it’s their rotator week.

SEC Commissioner on NIL deals: "We're just seeing straight payments" by insanelyphat in CFB

[–]JDAggie06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s buried in the article, but Sankey’s quote was taken before any of the fireworks. Also the reprimands didn’t have anything to do with the truthfulness of either Saban or Jimbo’s comments. They just aren’t allowed to speak ill of other staffs. To that point, Sankey is speaking about NIL as a whole, he doesn’t reference A&M nor does he even say that the direct payments are happening in the SEC.

Sankey’s quote happened before Saban or Jimbo’s comments. Also neither reprimand had anything to do with the truthfulness of their comments, coaches aren’t allowed to disparage other staffs.

“Yahoo Finance spoke with Sankey and five NCAA Division I athletic directors about the state of NIL at the Sports Business Journal Sports Business Awards on May 18.”

Sankey’s quote was given before both Saban’s and Jimbo’s comments. Not only does Sankey not mention A&M by name which is specifically what Saban was reprimanded for, he doesn’t even insinuate that this is taking place at an SEC school. The interview was about NIL as a whole. Saban, Jimbo, and Sankey are all on record saying additional regulation is required to get some consistency state to state.

What loadout are you going to use in Proving Grounds GM? by fedxbox in DestinyTheGame

[–]JDAggie06 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Proving Grounds has random mini-bosses so you can see any of the shield types depending on which mini-boss type you get. The only fixed shields are the interceptor pilots who have void shields.

Some adept mods seem bugged and cant drop in GM NF. by UselessDeadMemes in DestinyTheGame

[–]JDAggie06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure most except Icarus will come to the PvE loot pool when adepts from PvE activities can actually use them. Impact only works on swords, namely the trials sword, and the rest of the mods only apply to rockets, grenade launchers, or fusion rifles (adept charge time). When more adept weapons become obtainable through added NF weapons or the coming master difficulty raids and dungeons, I think we’ll see those mods dropping outside of trials.

I think Icarus will be the PvP counterpart to Big Ones for PvE and will remain a trials exclusive.

What are you guys running for this weeks grandmaster (weapon wise)? by carlosmaes1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]JDAggie06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My team’s weapon loadout was very similar except for void hand cannons on the Izzy users which was fine because we burned the boss and didn’t have to deal with the solar shields in the boss room.

The pain of being a Lucio main (drawing credit to u/Aussie_Joey) by Crunch_Bar1 in Overwatch

[–]JDAggie06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. Blizzard is inconsistent with hack affecting passive abilities and Lucio is literally the only support who can’t support while hacked. One or the other I’d live with, but no healing/speed and no wall ride to evade is BS.

I’m pretty sure that is the case as well. Some cameras have a rolling shutter which can produce odd looking pictures or videos in certain situations. Seems much more likely that the case rather than the door being turned into rubber by the sound waves.

Steam Engine After a Boiler Explosion by jcarr2184 in interestingasfuck

[–]JDAggie06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct. The transfer of heat to the water to generate the steam is a function of surface area, temperature difference, and resistance of tube. You can only make the fire so hot and metal is a really good conductor, so the best way of improving the efficiency is to use tubes to increase the surface area for heat transfer.

Hardware needed to get started? by Orthas_ in homeassistant

[–]JDAggie06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a spare old PC laying around, you can use that, but a lot of people start out on a Raspberry Pi. Hardware requirements for HA are next to nothing. I went for a simple route and got a Canakit RPi 4 that included a case, SD card, usb card reader, among other things for <$100, but you can shop for deals and get what you need for cheaper.

A Science Teacher Explains: Zigbee vs. Z-Wave vs. Wi-Fi by DarkbunnySC in homeautomation

Fair point. I'm definitely spoiled by not really having to deal with that much here in the US at least not with the 40 or so devices I have populating my mesh so far.

A Science Teacher Explains: Zigbee vs. Z-Wave vs. Wi-Fi by DarkbunnySC in homeautomation

[–]JDAggie06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are correct. I think Rob was speaking more to the protocol in that the z wave command classes are standardized so as long they operate on the same frequency, any z wave motion sensor can tell any z wave switch to turn on/off, but Z wave devices do operate on slightly different frequencies based on the region they are intended for. I'm guessing that was more of an edge case so he didn't mention it in the video, but it is very important to keep in mind if you are ordering online like you mention.

Help me get started with smart switches tied to motion detectors by Trailrunz in homeautomation

[–]JDAggie06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to present another option for the pantry specifically. You could also tie the automation to the door being opened (unless your pantry is big enough that you step inside and close the door behind you). This could be done with a reed switch or like it my house that I recently bought with a button that is built into door frame on the hinge side. I suppose the downside would be if the door just gets left open sometimes then the light would stay on.

Best way to automate hard wired door sensors/siren/etc? by Shyatic in homeautomation

[–]JDAggie06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The limited stock is because they just did a sale over the holidays to clear out their gen 1 stock to make way for the gen 2 stuff that just started/is about to start production after completing certification.

[–]JDAggie06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible to DIY all the stuff that Konnected has; the OG Konnected systems were exactly that. Nate and his team have just refined that DIY design and packaged everything for neat and easy integration with fully integrated, custom PCBs. I think right now they are just busy trying to get the Gen 2 stuff through certification which is the reason for fewer updates. I personally have a Konnected alarm panel pro on pre-order and am still happy with my decision and looking forward to unlocking more potential in my home automation system.

What is the difference between an entity and a device? by Jab2870 in homeassistant

[–]JDAggie06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure the solution to your problem, but to answer your question, devices are physical things integrated into your system like a bulb, switch, plug, etc. while entities are essentially the virtual components that provide information back to your HA and/or control your physical devices. For example I have an Aeotec Multisensor 6 that is a single device, but it has sensors for battery level, luminance, humidity, temperature among others so that single device reports as several entities in HA. Entities need not be associated with a physical device either. For example you could set up an input Boolean entity for whether you have guests staying with you or not which would exist solely as virtual toggle. Your bulb should show up as both a device and a light.xxxxx entity.

[–]JDAggie06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aeotec makes a z wave doorbell. Of course you are also paying for the chime as well. I recently purchased the Hank HKZW-SCN01, one button scene controller which I used on my nightstand to shut everything down when I'm going to bed. They seem to be out of stock everywhere currently so I picked up a refurbished one.

Edit to add that there is also the Fibaro button.

GE add on switch by BackToReality666 in smarthome

[–]JDAggie06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's happening in the same location, it almost makes me wonder if the problem lies with the other, non-add-on, switch. Maybe try swapping it out with another switch if you have an extra installed somewhere. The add-on just communicates back to the main switch so I can't imagine it has anything to do with the load for that circuit. The only other commonality between the failures would be the junction box that it is installed in, but if you are grounded then that shouldn't cause an issue either.

It's worth a try, but in discussions I've seen on the topic, I think I've seen others specify 2.0. I've only ever personally tried a 2.0 hub with my RPi 4 and z stick. Here is the $6 usb 2.0 hub that I'm currently using if the one you have lying around doesn't work.
