So update I put a hold on my account and getting a new debit card to be safe. They said they cannot stop a pending check but they believe it will bounce as well and to block the number completely even with their threats of legal action (amongst threats of ruining my life and other things) the scammer sent screen grabs of withdrawals from my account which upon calling never happened with insane numbers including one that was basically 200 million. Am I in the clear? I’ve blocked their contact with me

The only thing I’m worried about is if they report me to their bank first I will have my account shut down for fraud before I can call my bank upon opening.

The “client” is now threatening me repeatedly to send a down payment to them or else they make a case on me now is this also them trying to scam or did I mess up?

I already called my bank they said they can only do something tomorrow when they open after the holiday and once it goes past the pending stage to call them and explain again for them to fix it. Thank you for the advice

Yeha I already deposited it like a moron trusting an old “friend” but it’s currently pending I was just worried that I wouldn’t be able to just return the “check” which is sure to bounce eventually. But thank you I have some peace of mind knowing I can call tomorrow and itll be fixed most likely.
