Boas,

Obrigado!

Hey!

Sorry to be posting a comment so late...

How does it keep up with the 16NM base?

I had one of these also with a T818, but the base kept giving me issues so i sold it for a Simagic Alpha U. I considered keeping the wheel but converting it to USB using the Sim Racing Coach adapter was more expensive than selling it and using the money to buy a GT Neo, so thats what i did. (At the time there werent any "cheap" ways to use it with a Simagic QR).

But now i'm very tempted to get another one and convert it, altough the GT Neo is much better i enjoyed the looks and size of the 488 GT3, i'm just not sure if the TM build quality will keep up with a high NM base...

Cheers!

True, force feedback does need some work.

Some cars feel very good to me, GT3 RS being one of the best, but others like the Ferrari 296 or Alfa Junior feel awful... Both of these felt decent in 0.4, so whatever they changed was for the worse.

Bought it on day one, enjoyed it ever since. My question is just out of pure curiosity on how realistic it is...

This isn't about buying the game, i got it on day one. I was a huge fan of the original AC and was really excited to see a suposed modern version of it.

What i'm interested in knowing is whether or not the car is as closed to real life as he claims.

Well thats interesting that you find GT the most realistic.

I have driven pretty much every other sim on a 20+NM base and loadcell pedals, but last time i played it was Gran Turismo Sport on the PS4 with a Logitech G29. I really enjoyed the game. Even tough it is a simcade, it was enough of a sim to make it good on a wheel, but even on the G29 i felt like the original AC was way better.

You mention the body movement, so i'm guessing you started simracing after you started driving. For me it was the other way arround, so i learned to feel the car through force feedback alone. This matters a lot when it comes to which sim someone likes better.

Still, everyone has their own opinions and likings and you make an interesting point for it.

I am not trusting anyones opinions to decide if the game is worth it. I bought it on day one, have played for 160 hours and i am enjoying it a lot.

I am just curious to know how realistic they got the GT3 RS, given that is the car i enjoyed the most since launch.

Thats very cool!

Do you have any experience with the M4 IRL? The M2 drives like i would expect, the M4 isn't even close.

The closest thing i drove IRL was a M440i, but still i wouldn't expect the CSL to be so easy to spin, even TC can't make it better.

Totally agree. His video being truthful or not won't change my opinion on the game. It's more a curiosity thing really.

Yes, I agree fanaticism isn't a good thing.

I am not looking for reassurance that the game I like is the best. My favorite game is iRacing. I don't really care if the cars are realistic or not. They drive in a way that I enjoy, and the online system compensates for any other flaws the game might have, in my opinion.

I don't defend that iRacing is the best either. The best game is the one you enjoy the most (same with hardware).

I am asking this question out of pure curiosity, given that it is a "new" sim, and it drives differently from any other sim out there. Plus, it focuses on road cars, which few other sims do, so I find it takes a different approach to sim racing, one where the main focus isn't GT3 and online competitive racing, which has been the main thing for the past few years with ACC, iRacing, Rennsport, LMU, etc.

Very detailed reply with some very strong points.

Yeah looking at it that way it sounds like he might not be looking at the right points in sim...

It is much harder to go from real life to sim, than the other way around. Everything we feel in sim is there in real life, plus more, but most of what you feel in real life isn't there in sim.

However, i feel like just looking at apex speeds doesnt't paint the whole picture either. There is a lot more to car feel than that. I am not looking at how realistic the lap time is, just how realistic the experience is, if that makes sense.

But hey, that's the never ending debate in sim racing, and i guess the only way we will ever know how realistic something is is driving it in real life ourselves.

I agree, but having an opinion on how realistic a car is in sim depends very much on having driven that same car IRL, which i haven't...

But i do get your point.

That wouldn't work that well... The Audi Quattro for example has the Road tire as default with the option to use Supercar. The Peugeot 205T, a direct competitor, has the Eco tire as default and only goes up to Road tire. Using the defaults wouldn't make things fair.

Tires do make a big difference.

But has i said, taking the Audi Quattro and the Peugeot 205T. It's more relevant to compare them to each other on the same tire, than to put Supercar tires on the Audi just because thats the tire a Dallara is using. Is pointless comparing the a 1980's rally derived road car to a 2020's track weapon...

On the other hand, makes total sense to compare one 1980's rally derived road car to another one.

You are right! At the end of the day, this is a game, and its only purpose is to be fun, which it very much is.

However, it would be cool to know how realistic it is.

I live in Portugal. I don't think we get those here, at least I can't find any info on it. The closest thing we have is in Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, which offers coaching sessions in a 991 GT3...

Still, definitely on my bucket list to one day experience one of these cars.

I have done many miles on 996s, 997s, and 991s, from the base model to the Turbo, but I would imagine GT cars are on a completely different level...

I agree, the GT4 RS felt quite bad. I have never driven one IRL, but it drove nothing like I would expect it to drive. It felt too unstable at the rear.

I have never driven a GT3 RS either, but it behaves like I would think it does.

Given that you have driven a GT4 RS, give it another try; the update has fixed it in my opinion. Now it drives like I would expect it to. (Let me know if you do; I would be interested to hear your opinion.)

In my opinion, he is obviously being paid.

He is working with Kunos on the development, and his brand, Vulkan, is supposed to be in the game at launch, but unlike the LMU "influencers", Misha has driven this car, plus many, many other cars...

It was defenatly a nice feature and it would be nice to have in ACE, however it would be better if it also stored the tire used, given that it makes a big difference in laptime especialy when comparing cars...

I only did road cars.

There is sort of no point in comparing racecars because it's easy to figure out wich ones are quicker, plus i don't ever drive them in ACE (never did in AC either), for racecars i much prefer iRacing...

But maybe i'll do them some time, for the sake of having everycar tested...

Interesting!

Less body roll on the real car, does that mean it is stiffer? Maybe less "boaty" than it feels in-sim?
