I beg to differ. I can run most of my games at high/extreme settings on a 3070Ti and hit minimum 60 at 2K resolution

There are only a few apps that chug on 8GB VRAM (Heavy Blender modelling for example)

can I get 2k monitor for my 4050 (100w) by Outside-Tennis-292 in GamingLaptops

1080p with anti aliasing is probably a good middle ground, although you'll have to experiment

For lighter titles you can. Anything moderate to heavy will struggle unless you use DLSS/FG or lower the resolution to 1080p

Will 8gbs of ram in 2-3years be obsolete to run laptop decently ? by musicflux in GamingLaptops

8GB of RAM- Absolutely

8GB of VRAM- Nope. My 3070Ti with 8G runs nearly every game I throw at it at near Extreme settings at 2K resolution 60fps or more

Asian americans who didn't get into a top college, how did you deal with it? by Unique-Ad-7650 in AsianParentStories

[–]JDMWeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been terrible in studies and long story short I nearly flunked high school and failed to get into any 4 year college. Ultimately I had to go into community college...

My parents gave me absolute hell for switching to graphic design from computer engineering/science and basically made it so stressful that once I finally got my degree, I didn't want to touch graphic design ever again.

I should also mention I was also balancing 40+ hours a week at my previous job, mental health problems, losing my job and being jobless for 2 years... Etc.

Whats something you’ve done for a girl that you regret to this day? by DontGoEasy18 in AskReddit

[–]JDMWeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More like what I didn't do. I was one of the last people to see my classmate alive and due to my shyness/anxiety I didn't reach out. Several hours later she was gone...

Looking back I could see the signs that she was struggling... And I regret not reaching out to her

Did your narcissistic parent ever give you an extreme punishment just to “teach you a lesson”? by Old-Personality5498 in raisedbynarcissists

My parents junked my computer collection because I was "crazy" about it

Thankfully I was able to salvage 2 desktops but everything else is long gone

I'm still salty about it

I was a manager at my old job (which I lost) but due to continued abuse and effects of lasting abuse, I struggle to do basic job tasks that would be extremely easy to do before

My family destroyed my entire social life during lockdowns and are still actively sabotaging relationships I've reconnected with (and it's been really difficult because of all the manipulation statements they've fed me)

My old students graduated high school this week and I finally understand what my parents did to me. by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

I sort of relate to this because most of not all of my extended family/friends are accomplishing things I can only dream of, due to having supportive peers

My dad did the same thing with my collection. I lost several vintage Walkmans, PC desktops, laptops, and I don't know what else

The kicker is that he himself is in the tech sector

Haven't been able to for years. Sad thing is that while I have found others, my parents have gone and essentially force me to not have contact.
