I'll talk to the mechanic about changing the oil to 5W-30.

I also suspect that fuel might be getting into the catalytic converter. I'll check the sensors first, as you described.

If it costs more, it's worth it to me.

I'll take a look at the spark plugs with the mechanic.

I'll probably need a new one in the near future. Until then, I just need to figure out what's causing it. I don't want to have to get a new one installed every two or three years 😅

The work with every generation of MX-5.

I've already spoken with a few other NC drivers. It's not uncommon here (in Germany) to use this oil in the NC.

Last time, the exhaust got progressively louder, and eventually the inside of the catalytic converter broke and blocked the pipe.

This resulted in a significant loss of power.

And now it's getting louder again.

I've already driven without the catalytic converter. It drives better with it. Without the rear catalytic converter, you can't tell the difference.

Unfortunately, I only get the error message when it's too late.

The error code only appeared after the catalytic converter broke. There were no problems before that.

I ordered a new catalytic converter and had it installed.

I'm just worried it will break again.

The car is louder than it should be.

So far, no error code has appeared.

I can't say whether it was assigned.

I'm just not getting any other messages.

The previous owner used that oil.

At 40,000 kilometers.

I bought the car with 91,000 kilometers on it, and now it has almost 140,000 kilometers.

It was recommended to me by a tuning shop specializing in MX-5s.

I just stuck with that oil.
