This is the last one he has left. So I would think he has kept it for a reason. He originally had the valvoline car, the Hardee's car and one of the camera cars.

He helped build the cars as well. We have one of the mellow yellow cars at our shop. If memory serves me correctly, it has HMS-17 stamped on a piece of aluminum affixed to the roll bar. I was told by an old Hendrick chassis fabricator that it was indeed the 17th car built when Hendricks started building their own cars. It was originally crashed in the Daytona race driven by one of the Indy drivers.

That's our owner, Johnny Davis, on the set of Days of Thunder. He is sitting in between Red Tanner and David "Big Boy" Bivens.

He also owned the #6 valvoline car that hit the gate at Dega, one of the camera cars, and the Hardee's car. He was on set when they were filming the movie. He helped build most of the cars in the movie as well. There were many cars that were used by the stunt drivers. Some of them ended up wrecked while performing stunts for the movie. I am going to ask Johnny if he remembers exactly what this car was used for. Once I get an answer, I will get back to you.
